The one reason it’s worth it for me is the livestream of the local CBS affiliate. I’m in a rural area, and while I can get my ABC and CW affiliates with an antenna, I have to stream CBS and PBS. I wish Peacock would offer livestreaming of NBC affiliates so that I didn’t have to watch SNL on Sunday.

I’m guessing the HBO Max show, whatever it looks like, will be at least an hour -- and I’m wondering if that leaves room for Jimmy Vivino and some of the old band members. It would be nice to have a live band again.

This ties in nicely with the “Mad Pooper” Wikipedia Wormhole yesterday over on the AV Club.

Can’t believe no one has posted the MST3K clip yet:

Schell is also great in Topkapi, the jewel heist film that inspired every other jewel heist film (it also inspired Bruce Geller to create “Mission: Impossible”).

I would probably never have sought this movie out in a million years, but I stumbled across it one day on TCM and I was immediately hooked, and I will watch it every time they air it.

I’m guessing that someone at the CW is probably working on “Quimby: Medical Examiner,” even as we speak.

I have no idea who is buying these things like MayoChup and what have you. It’s a ridiculous idea. In decades past, I’ve seen at least two, maybe three, attempts by small start-up companies to market a salt and pepper combo for use at the table. But that doesn’t simplify things; it complicates them. There are bound to

I live in the next county over from Bonnaroo and have never been. I take no particular pride in this; I almost went one year, back when I was working for the local newspaper and when the festival was a little more liberal with press passes for local media. We had one writer who had been covering the festival every

“This is unit 12! I need backup! We have an A.A. down!”

I thought Clark Gregg’s character was killed in Being Fibber McGee & Molly. How are they going to bring him back?

There are additional “other” spaces on the card, which might be needed if future research calls for a booster (or if some variant proves resistant to the original vaccine). Laminating the card will make it more difficult to use those spaces in the future. I ordered an airtight, zip-closure badge holder from Amazon.

I believe there is now some being raised in the Pacific Northwest — in fact, I think that’s the first time I ever heard about the difference, was in an NPR story or something similar about the people who were raising real wasabi in the U.S.

I’ve long heard that most of the “wasabi” sold here in the U.S. is, in fact, horseradish, with green food coloring and possibly some trace amount of wasabi just so that they can include it in the ingredient list. In fact, I’ve even heard that if you’re accustomed to U.S. wasabi, you may not care for the real stuff if

By the way, if you have not seen “The Boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story,” it is available on Disney+ and very definitely worth seeing.

Yes! I’ve read that too.

I loved the documentary on producer Merian C. Cooper that TCM ran a few years back: “I’m King Kong! The Exploits of Merrian C. Cooper.” I would love to watch it again some time but I can’t seem to find it streaming anywhere, and if TCM has re-run it lately I’ve missed it. Cooper had been a World War I pilot and then

And he was game. I need to look up the episode with the game show parody “Old French Whore,” in which each of the innocent young contestants is paired with an old French whore. Garth did not play one of the innocent young contestants, nor was he the MC.
