Gross, but I’m not that surprised. His screen name was originally “Faggotron”.

Beat me to it!
Great point! My Oma is Croatian, and was forcefully relocated to Austria with her family when she was a young girl. When we discussed Sisi together, she told me she saw the first "Sissi" movie the year she left for America. She said it was exactly that; a romantic escapist period piece. She knew it wasn't a…
Agreed, combining the two characters would have been a mess. As much as I'd like to see an English-language version of the show, I'd hate to see it altered or watered down in any way. I know Kunze had a very bad experience with "Tanz Der Vampire" being adapted into a disastrous Broadway show.
A Broadway adaptation was in the works? So depressing that it didn't happen..."Elisabeth" is a spectacular show.
The musical alone could warrant its own piece, since it's been adapted so many times! (Including by the all-female Takarazuka troupe of Japan.) Sisi's legacy tends to be a bit glossed over from the "Sissi" movies and such, but the musical is a refreshingly dark take on her life, allegedly inspired by Brigitte…

Sisi is one of my favorite historical ladies, thanks for this piece! I highly recommend The Reluctant Empress; it's an exhaustive read that covers every thinkable detail of her fascinating and troubled life.
Surreal madness. Keep it coming, Adult Swim.
Cheesy tributes aside, Empress Elisabeth was a fascinating woman. A Jezebel article about her would be fantastic!
I would love to see it with graphical upgrades, but make too many changes and the game loses its charm. A lot of the pre-rendered background are still beautiful and the gameplay is relatively solid. If today's Square-Enix got their paws on it, I fear it would turn into the Star Wars Special Edition of Final Fantasy…
I enjoyed the shameless fanservice of Advent Children, but I agree with you about the extra stuff added to the FVII universe in the prequels/sequels. Nomura went nuts with the "but, actually!" moments.
Witchblade has grown a lot since the cheesecakey 90's, too. She wears full armor now! The Artifacts series with her was pretty great, and it included other Top Cow universe characters like The Darkness and Magdalena. Seems perfect for a big franchise.
Maybe Incredible Edibles or Doctor Dreadful? Loved Creepy Crawlers and all those maker oven things as a kid.
My thoughts exactly! Some strong Jackie Estacado vibes.
Yes, Ianto please. The spirit of Torchwood died a bit with him, poor thing.
