I’m on Mirena now after using the pill for 8-ish years. Only on month 3 of Mirena, but it’s worked out fairly well so far. My skin has gotten a bit more oily (more acne breakouts) but not terrible. Have had regular periods, heavier than with the pill, but not terrible. I’m expecting these side effects to go away…

That is fucking awful. For perspective: in Manhattan, I asked about getting an IUD. My gyno recommended Mirena. I got it inserted during my next period (that’s when they recommend getting it put in), less than a month later. It was extremely easy. It should be just as easy for everyone else.
