Respectfully, this piece is in very poor taste. I actually agree with the general premise of it: I was a public defender for the first four years of my career. The prison system is very corrupt, and I have long advocated for there to be an age cut off for people who no longer pose a threat to society to be released.

Given the state of Broadway these days, I’m more excited about his No Assholes policy.

ill take a AR-15 at Garths over a Colostomy bag at Kidd Rocks any day of the week.

If he lacks the mental faculties to be President how come half your party is bitching about he just jobbed them in negotiations?  Think long and hard about that, you fucking idiot.

Of everything Swift’s ever released, “Cruel Summer”—the towering, glistening synth-pop anthem about the agony and ecstasy of an anxious summer romance which, I swear to God, before I started taking Wellbutrin was the only thing that soothed my depression...”

“One of the unfortunate things that’s happening in Arizona, and we see this in other parts of the country as well, is that the two political parties have gotten more and more extreme.”

“What they did today was equivalent, at least equivalent, maybe worse depending on how you look at it, to doing an insurrection in the State Capitol,” said House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R).

This will be delicious.  I live in Nashville. The state has forced a law cutting city council in half from 40 to 20 members and our mayor has decided not to run for another term, so there is no question Justin Jones will be appointed again.  Our democratic city has no fucks left to give because of our state

I’ve actually met her mother. She works at a hospital with a close friend of mine, and came to my friend’s house for a Hannukah party. She’s very nice and very low key. My friend didn’t tell me who she was until after the party because she really doesn’t like the attention.

I agree with you, but as someone suffering from mental illness, I am sick of everything relating to mental health as "awareness." There should be more awareness, but I'm so frustrated that that's all there seems to be

I believe the international sex crimes expert claim, but probably not in the context he intended.

So, I didn’t go to Provo Canyon. I went to a different school, which did not abuse children. Shut down Provo Canyon, certainly. That’s not the same as saying shut down residential treatment modalities.

This guy. One of my favorite actors ever since I was a teenager. Cried like a baby.

The folks you work with are lucky to have you! I absolutely needed to hear this today, thank you.

I work as a counselor in a residential treatment facility for people with severe mental illness and....same. It feels crazy that yeah, my life is basically the same, but with a mask.

Thank you. Your comment is so much better than the self-righteous, sophomoric baby-Marxist class warfare angst of the original post.

thanks for responding. it's really interesting to hear your perspective.

Agreed, and thank you for this. I think it’s important to acknowledge that everyone is stressed and having a difficult time right now, in whatever way that is. I fell into the “well at least I’m still employed, what am I complaining about?” trap a few weeks ago, but then I remind myself that yes I do still have a job

This is the right take! The “I have it pretty good so why should I complain?” thought process kept me from therapy til I was 28 years old, and does the same for lots of other people. Not to mention that alongside these lifestyle pieces, the New York Times has had some of the most sincere, premiere coverage of the

Thank you for this. I ended a years-long relationship this week, and it feels weird to be struggling with normal breakup stuff (admittedly my first adult breakup that requires moving out) and trying to figure out how to build a social life during Covid, when other people have more practical issues of staying
