I appreciated both of those AND Sweet Valley High. I was the geek who turned up with my own already well read copy when we read The Outsiders at school! (Nice to see someone mention Paul Zindel - my local library had loads of his books and I loved him, but he seems to have completely passed by everyone else in the UK

Didn’t he (DDL) have a nervous breakdown after doing Hamlet because he was basically reliving his father’s death on stage every night? Whenever people talk about Method acting I roll my eyes and think of Laurenece Olivier apparently saying to Dustin Hoffman “You’re an actor darling, ACT tired” on the set of Marathon

Oh god, I’d almost forgotten about the AWFUL Cary storyline! Such a bad series on so many levels. I had hoped Alicia and Cary were going to turn into the new Will and Diane as I thought they used to have good (non-sexual) chemistry, but this whole series has been a bit of a drag so far (the election has only just

I have also watched from the beginning and I’m in complete agreement with your aunt! Worst season. We’ve already had to suffer through two elections with Peter, then they threw another one in. I keep hoping the The Good Wife will become The Divorcee though!

Well she’d be a dreadful Mulan, what with not being Chinese and all, but I can’t allow that kind of comment about my beloved Black Widow to just stand unchallenged! I have no strong feelings about her other bodies of work but Natasha Romanoff is currently my favourite thing about MCU (except, coincidentally, Melinda

I appreciate Gloria Steinem is an icon but I've (unfairly!) taken against her for her part in encouraging Alicia Florrick on one of the most yawnworthy plot developments of The Good Wife. Thanks for ruining one of my favourite shows Gloria!

Neither does the UK. I do not approve of this foreign policy.

I completely agree. Her voice was excellent and I had no idea she could sing so well, but my immediate thought was it seemed like she was trying to mimic somebody. In the same way that when I saw her perform with Tony Bennet on Strictly Come Dancing she was clearly (and VERY bizarrely) trying to mimic either Barbara

My mum loves both of them equally, I on the other hand *hate* both of them equally! I think The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is infinitely better, and don't understand why Anne is largely overlooked.

I just can't do it to music at all. I get distracted and start listening to the song and it puts me right off!

Tea/coffee as is right and proper! (Sorry, I am clearly in the 40% as I have no problems with milk, but as a Brit I can't fathom dunking biscuits in a cold drink! Honestly, try dunking an Oreo in coffee, it's 10x better than in milk. Still light years behind dunking a HobNob though!)

I'm British, and we only have the General Medical Council doing that kind of thing so it all makes even less sense to me! I stand by my original thought that he should have his license to practise revoked though.

Oh, I was going to say he ought to have his medical license revoked, but I guess he's unlikely to revoke it from himself?!

That really is very sweet!

There's a chance some of the photographs in the book Kanye saw were of dead people too. Never underestimate the ability of the Victorians to out-creep everybody else!

That was the way I read it too; being privileged doesn't protect you from that crap.

I wish I could like this more than once!
