Watching this convo unfurl has made me think a couple of things. You’ve been utterly polite and measured throughout this conversation. I wonder if that comes across to someone who is super super enthusiastic and frustrated as condescending? I am trying to put it together, to understand how some people have the

I have worked on the Syrian conflict for the last few years. Actually, a huge amount of work has gone into non-military intervention. Millions and millions of dollars of non-kinetic, non-clandestine work. It just doesn’t get talked about by the public and often, doesn’t get talk about by the media, either, because to

Jim/James Scott’s ‘Seeing Like a State’ is a great one, coming from the Anthropology side of things.

A friend of mine who is a screen writer and film nut said that it felt really exploitative and she hated it :(

Help! I’m spending 2 months in Wisconsin this summer and I don’t know what to do with myself. I haven’t lived in the US for almost a decade. Any suggestions? What is the weather like?

I realised I was going to be able to tell my 11 year old niece that she would make a great president one day - without that little twinge of sadness at society and our own shameful history - and I cried for a full 10 minutes. I think many of us are experiencing this deeply; it is undeniably emotional.

I’m only going to paste this one more but, I’m just so damn excited - the people who did the Hillary Clinton ‘Rebel Grrl’ video did another one: Rise

YES - and here is an amazing fan video to celebrate. I’m going to share it everywhere because dammit, I’m tired of feeling like I can’t be excited.

I believe this is a good year for, ‘Trust - but verify’. I believe strongly that Clinton (or Sanders, if he pulls it out, or hell, even Jill) could been Trump, but I will do my utmost to ensure that outcome.

I did the same and now I can’t help but think she looks like Jennifer Lawrence and Blake Lively morphed into one.

I will say only this - I worked with her once and she was lovely, LOVELY. She was super down to earth and hard working, took a shitty little publicity thing very seriously and professionally. She made my job fun and easy. I give her a pass because I think she might just genuinely love people and life.

Alsooooooo I had a little fun with numbers this morning and worked out that if you actually look at individual votes cast, including caucus vote estimates (based on turn out and percentage awarded) - Clinton has had to win 7500 votes for every delegate allocated. Sanders has won 6851 for every delegate allocated. That

If the concern is getting out the base, then that should be Clinton’s demonstrable strength. In a year of mixed turn out for Dems (high in caucuses, low in primaries, when compared to ‘08 and even ‘12) Clinton has still earned more popular votes than Trump in what has been, by all accounts, a massive turn out all

Hillary is winning because she has won 7500 individual votes per delegate allocated. Compare that to Sanders having won 6851 votes for every delegate allocated.
