That's LE SAMUEL to you.

Nathan does have Logan's flat affect, though he seems more driven/less privileged than Logan.

She fell apart in the quarter-finals, too…all those burned chickpea cakes! I wish they'd kept Ayla around and gotten rid of Jenna, even though Jenna was the more charismatic TV contestant.

I don't think anyone would be upset by a 12 year old boy saying that "boys are better than girls." Because: children. On the other hand, an adult on the internet crying about how the male gender is unfairly treated is rather sad.

I was okay with the "showing potential" benchmark early on, when so few competitors showed potential. The last few weeks should have a different judging criteria, IMHO.

I have to believe that Clarke's arc is to be a different kind of leader—one who builds coalitions rather than constantly battles. I just have to believe that, or I'd find the show too dark to watch.

When she, the only doctor in a disaster zone, decided to go underground and start moving around heavy objects without checking to see if the area was stable, I seriously thought, "She's pretty stupid."

That explains the temperate rain forest!

Coney Island?

Well, if nuclear war occurs in ~2050, then it could be a surprise nuclear state like ISIS or Iran, in which case there could have been terrorist bombings, etc. That might not comport with our preconceptions about where bombs would detonate (for example, a terrorist might be able to hit Baltimore but might not make it

Until Lexa Doig can convince me that she knows how to act, she can stop appearing in all the good sci-fi. I think she's quite pretty, and I don't think she RUINS any scenes, but she doesn't really add much.

I was right—he went underground, as we see in the next episode.

I REALLY wish that Gordon had helped out Jenna the way that he helped out Andrew this ep. He tells Andrew to redo the mousse with 15 minutes to go, but they wait until 3 min out to tell Jenna to start plating…IDK. I mean, maybe they did help her with 15 minutes to go, and we didn't see that, but I felt like Andrew

MCJ S1 had a girl in the finale, though I agree that I'm frustrated about the seemingly-ubiquitous chunky white male finale competitors. Considering that they got rid of Ayla and Kayla in a bullshit elimination two weeks ago, I feel like your criticisms are valid, Benjamin Bear. Though I do think Jenna was weak this

I wondered about the depiction of the tart as the most difficult, also. For me, the tart would've been a breeze and the Napoleon would have been an insurmountable impossibility. The only explanation I have is that the tart would take longer, so it was a time-management issue. Though that also makes me wonder why

Am I wrong, or is Nathan the first MCJ competitor who has mentioned some logical, real-world application for winning the $100K? I feel like past competitors talked about buying pony farms and creating theoretical "food empires," but that Nathan has been the only one who actually wants the money to help out his family.

It really felt like they already knew, going in to this episode, who they were going to pick for the finale. Andrew did a really terrible job on the second mousse—and also did a bad job on his first mousse. It felt like Gordon told him to remake the mousse if only to make sure that they could ARGUE that Andrew should

Jenna, not Kayla. I'm guessing that the reason they went with Andrew over Jenna had to do with some kind of "we need to have a fat kid on every MCJ finale, or people won't like the show anymore," rule. Which I feel mean about saying, because I like Andrew, but I can't figure out why he is in the finale, otherwise.

But you used so many words!

Jenji does have a penchant for taking dumb-sounding premises and making them good shows.
