and what I like most about her beam routines is she really isn’t hesitant, her leaps and jumps are fully extended and high, her form is impeccable and her confidence is breathtaking. beam routines can be beautiful dance throughs, they can be ugly awkward halting sequences, they can be just chock full of skills and no Read more

When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer.

One of the popular narratives about Simone is that she’s powerful (which she is) and strong (that, too). Or even that she’s too powerful (e.g.: this article)! Sometimes this is used to dismiss her achievements, often with overtly racist sentiments. But all this talk about power has overshadowed one of her most amazing Read more

It really didn’t help that the combination of the Jane+Jorge conversation and him tattling to Alba made him look like such a bitch. Really, you’re going to stand there and pretend you’re totally happy to make some changes for your stepgrandson’s sake, then run off to your wife to fix it?

I so agree... for the life of me I can’t get the Silky Love.  I thought Nina had the Snatch Game, honestly.  If Vanjie doesn’t get to be funny just being herself, they shouldn’t let Silky get away with it.

What I find the most disappointing about Silky is that her entire schtick is an appeal to the lowest common denominator when it REALLY doesn’t have to be. She pigeonholes herself to the a stereotypical fat southern black queen trope when she could brand herself as the first drag superstar to hold a doctorate and give Read more

It’s like she gets it, but then she does the contortionist stuff. I used to do that too, no lie. I used to have doctors who, when I was the first patient they ever saw with EDS, would ask me what “tricks” I could do. And stupidly I would dislocate my hips and shoulders on demand, bend my thumbs back, all of the things Read more

I don’t really know who Ts Madison is but I thought Silky was funny and deserved the win. I just wish she wasn’t such a whiny unpleasant catty asshole. She is right in that Yvie should leave the judging to the judges but her childish grudge carrying is not appealing Read more

I commented on last week’s post that my ex works with EDS patients and has treated a lot of former contortionists and current Cirque du Soleil performers.  They know it won’t last forever and it will be harder in the long run but for the time being it’s how they make their living.

I’ve never been as annoyed by any reality contestant as I’m annoyed whenever Silky says anything. She’s so obnoxious, petty and delusional that I can’t even find one redeeming quality for which I could sympathize with her. And I really don’t find her funny, just loud. The fact that she’s obviously Ru’s favorite ruins Read more

Admittedly we’re in Toronto, but my bar literally tore the roof off for both Brooke’s runway and the lipsync. I also have to admit I was spoiled, both on who bombed Snatch Game and on the fact that it was a double shantay — again, I live in Brooke country, let’s just say there’s a gay grapevine and leave it at that — Read more

With all that said about Untucked, despite all the emotional violence flying around her head, Brooke Lynn still gets the best edit out of it all for being so over it all. Yvie versus everybody? Brooke Lynn is over it. Ra’Jah versus Plastique? Brooke Lynn is over it. Brooke Lynn covering herself in couch cushions while Read more

Ew. I thought Ra’Jah crossed the line to bullying with Plastique, but then Yvie didn’t step down either. And that is the thing: I love Yvie’s looks, but when she gets aggressive, I see her as ugly as a Disney villain in the final fight before being vanished. Read more

I've never quite understood this claim. The songs are clearly assigned in advance of the challenge to the queens to memorize lyrics & prepare their routines. (As evident by Coco Montrose's repeated savvy for costuming with the lip sync in mind.) And so many wins are heavily determined by the last-minute runway Read more
