Plastic can be very very good at imitating other materials if done properly.  A high polish can look and feel like glass.  You can PVD coat it and brush it to look like metal.  There are even high thermal conductivity polymers that can imitate the “cool touch” feeling of metal.  Put a plastic back on it and be done
