Everything I know about Warhammer comes from Stuart Wellington, one of the hosts of the bad movie podcast The Flop House. He’s a hardcore fan (and even worked at Games Workshop’s store in NYC when he was in his twenties, where he once sold a bunch of materials to Sigourney Weaver), but mainly because he understands it

Nope, canon is not important. Canon is an illusion. All long-running stories are in a constant state of flux and rewrites themselves all the time to adjust to changing social moores and tastes. Warhammer is no exception. It's all fiction, all imaginary. Don't use canon to excuse your own close-mindedness.

Since this is not an origin story, does this mean that Pa Kent will be a recurring character and not a one-off who dies tragically in the movie?

I’m down with this choice. But please actually let him encourage his son to do good for humanity this time.

I’m replying to you to call DTurkin a piece of shit, since they’ll dismiss any reply you make to them directly. Hey DTurkin, you’re a piece of shit.

1984 was about a totalitarian governmemt manipulating historical records as an act of total propaganda to better subjugate its population

GW needs to take a much harder stance against these types

I, a person with almost zero interest in WH40K, have come across a ton of fan art of female characters, including Custodes. Some of it isn’t even pornographic!
Lies! Nothing but sweet honied LIES! :P

“Woke” is just a way of obscuring the epithets they really want to use behind a vague and anodyne-sounding word.

The proper response to people who are butthurt about something like this being “woke” is “shut the fuck up”.

The problem is that they don’t go away. GW could outright tell them to fuck off and they’d still do mental gymnastics to say that the insult was meant for someone else and escape to darker corners of the community. It’s just exhausting.

Maybe you should have R’d? Because you basically have the situation upside-down. The real issue is chud fans, not the company.

I’ve been playing 40K since 1996.

Gonna sneak a couple of these bad boys into the theater.

After finally watching Quiet On Set (had put it off for a while due to having to mentally prepare to be icked out), I totally agree with a lot of her points. It touches on some heavy topics but a lot of those heavy topics and stories are buried in cheap schlock which is trying to get you in the headspace of “wow so

I largely agree. What did it for me was Final Crisis and his 7 Soldiers. There are interesting ideas in there, but no reason why anyone should care about it because the stories are uninterested in their characters.

I always wondered exactly where that Venture Brothers plotline came from.
Nice.

New X-Men always gave me the vibe that Morrison didn’t really like the X-Men—which is a shame, because he does incredible work with legacy characters that he does like.

I’m saying this as a big Grand Morrison fan. His DC work includes some of my all-time favorite stories ever written.
