Have we received an explanation for how September received his gunshot yet?

worked for Omar's death. I'm down with DRJ's little death.

I wish I could articulate what it is about her that gets on my nerves so badly. I want to like her - but I just have this completely visceral reaction to her character. I blame the writers though, because I think there is possibility in Bonnie's character in theory, there is just something in the execution that I find

Don't touch the mic baby don't come near it

I love thinking that Elijah is Big Daddy. Of course, I probably just love thinking about Elijah, full stop.

I made the mistake of reading the books - and man oh man is the crystal skull thing seriously the dumbest idea ever. I had hoped that the series would avoid it completely, since in adapting TVD the writers have been so good about throwing out the rubbish from the books. But no, here we are: rubbish crystal skull.

I like Michelle Fairley. I like the Reeds too. And I get why it's expedient to utilize Osha in the show as the Reeds in the book. I will miss Jojen's and Meera's tales, but perhaps we will get them later. If not, TV Osha is good.

male full frontal. you know, as long as we are throwing in some nudity wishes.

I agree with you about the timing - since the writers insist on creating Vampire Alaric the Evil Vampire Hunter, best to cram that into this episode rather than shift that action to a future ep. And I do find how it all played out very very sad for Alaric (he's certainly life's bitch, isn't he?).

Don't get me wrong, I liked the Damon-Alaric moment. I can never get enough of those two.

"Goddamnit Dumbass Bonnie" was exactly what I screamed at the tv. Hate her character.

evil blonds are their own trope, and it spans all types of entertainment. See Tv Tropes.

I agree with you about the pending disappointment. A girl can hope and dream though.

it felt to me that there was no place for girls in sXe - we could be saintly worshipped girlfriends, but there was just no place to really relate. It felt more like we were being excluded and talked down to - Boys say no drugs no drink no sex - and therefore we must fall in line and adhere.

It's interesting that you brought up the Buffy-Spike comparison, because I was so disappointed when the writers opted to back off from the idea of a complex Buffy who clearly felt something for Spike - something more than just wanting to "feel" and to get slammed against a wall. Rather than playing that out, they

maybe Olivia takes the bullet for her daughter. In that case, the bullet would be a pretty powerful symbol of mom-love.

agreed.

Cusick was enjoyable as Simon, and it was good to see him again. I tried to watch that Scandal show just because he was in it, but uh, yeah, I fell asleep. It's umm, not good, even if Suited-Desmond is in it.

perhaps it is just that if you observe something long enough you end up feeling a part of it, or longing to be a part of it, and so you feel compelled to direct it, manage it, control it, as if you know what's better for those and for what you are observing. You know, Adrian Veidt style.

but the letters of transit in Casablanca serve a larger purpose than being our little MacGuffin. The letters are tied to 1) a significant amount of the outing of duplicity/allegiances and 2) a large sacrifice for the greater good.
