Ah.... a possible ray of sunshine. Good thought, might make it bareable. No, I doubt it....

What’s really baffling is that there apparently is a huge following for this show. I watched the first episode last year when they matched speeds with a lowflying 747 in a car, then plugged into the planes server. (through the landing gear, in case your wondering) Anyway, that was enough for me. I figure this one was

I get the impression that Chris Carter is a little full of himself these days. Getting the X-Files back on TV is quite an accomplishment. The fans sure are excited, heck, I’m excited and I don’t think I ever watched an episode live. But me thinks he should be careful with how he messes with M + S. I can see this

All that comes to me is, “WOW”! It seems like when I skim through the galleries of other Cons io9 has shared, there’s always a couple of great cosplayers, but this collection is unbelieveable! Of course, hats off to the photography, but overall, your right, some of the best Cosplay I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing!

I have to say that in the past year I’ve bought more books recommended by io9 than from any other source. For a while I thought it was just luck that I hadn’t run across a stinker out of all these sci-fi and fantasy books I’ve picked up through the site. So just now I was happy to see another 73 folks hopping on the

In fairness, the creators told us what to expect. It’s really an issue of whether or not the viewer is interested in this family enough to keep watching. I guess it’s going to be their story. The bad thing about it is that we could all write these episodes, to a certain degree, anyway. We know how it’s going to end

I think they’ve already renewed it for a second series. One thing to cross of your list of dreads....

Since your watching SGA for the first time, I bet your wondering why all the great dialogue and clever humor that permeated the SG shows has gone missing in Dark Matter. To me, it’s hard to imagine that the same two guys, Millie and Mallozzi, that wrote a lot of SGA are the same people that created and wrote Dark

I’ve actually done a switch with these 2 shows. I had high hopes for Dark Matter and didn’t hold out much hope for Killjoys. Now, closing in on the finales, I’ve really enjoyed the story in Killjoys and have been pretty much dissapointed all the way around with Dark Matter.

Scalzi writes a tremendously readable book. The End of All Things was no different. I believe I read that the Old Man’s War series will be re-visited at least twice in his new 14 book deal. Regardless of what he publishes, it’s a good bet that it will be good. Can’t say that about a lot of writers, but he’s one author

As someone mentioned, it’s not for everyone. I ended up watching it alone as I didn’t want to miss anything. I also hit the rewind button more than a few times. Once finished, I felt like I had watched something pretty special. There are a few things with the plot that don’t exactly hold water after close inspection,

Excellent news! If you only watched 2 episodes, you really owe it to yourself to watch 3. The show clicked for me near the end of the 3rd and I watched it in one session from that point. I think when they all connected during the 4 Non Blondes song, I was hooked.

I’m almost finished with Kim Stanley Robinson’s Aurora. It has been quite a surprise. I realize that this one stands on it’s own and shouldn’t be compared with the Mars Trilogy, but it’s very hard not to. As always, KSR gives his readers something to think about that lasts a long time, Aurora is no different. The book

There’s a fundimantal missing component in this show. I know that with each passing episode, we are learning more about each of the crew. The cast, in itself, is excellent. I guess perhaps, it’s that I’m not particularly vested in any one of them yet and the series is halfway over. I would be sorry to see the android

Thanks very much! I made a note about the release a few months ago. This is great to get a sample tho! It sounds very cool and I’m most definely excited to dive in...

Yeah, it was one of the few times that I can recall that I was actually on the edge of my seat while watching. Then, they had to go and blow it with that last scene. I’ve just started the books so I’m anxious to see how they handled things at the end. I would have preferred that everyone not frozen had died rather

All this scientific reasoning applied to cinematic sci-fi pursuits takes a lot of quality time. And, we all know, time = money. Plus, I think Michio has realized that money is fun and a lot easier to make in the movies than in theoretical physics!

Your right, that’s how I got them. I’m glad to hear that they are an interesting read. After the last scene in the TV show, I was really hoping the books carried on a bit...

Just my opinion, but the way I took it was that the human race pretty much killed themselves off and the creatures are what the surviving humans morphed into. Still, a lot of unanswered questions, but it sort of fits, except I would think it would take 10’s of thousands of years rather than a couple.

Wayward Pines has been such a pleasant surprise. For those who haven’t seen the finale, it’s pretty wild. Don’t get too comfortable.
