It was more Twin Peaks as a specific example that I took umbrage with. I totally agree that some shows could use a trim in terms of filler and shit episodes, but TP The Return is not a show to jump into the ‘best’ episodes unless you want to be confused.
The way you lay it out would leave Laura Palmer’s murderer undiscovered and the cliffhanger of Cooper being shot never resolved as well as the vast majority of questions posed in season 1 unanswered. Counterpoint: Fuck this guy, Twin Peaks is pointless without context. The series is dense with its own logic and lore and cutting out any single part would cause the central narrative to crumble.
