Mate if I lived in California I wouldn’t even own a car and definitely wouldn’t bother doing trackdays. Unfortunately, I live in Canada near Banff, where there are good roads but the local population doesn’t take kindly to be overtaken at high speeds (unlike in Ireland where I used to live where its just accepted that…
But Triumph Bonnevilles, and Guzzis are doing great!
Or its possible to do something so often that it is no longer fun...or one is able to have fun commuting and doesn’t need to have it on the weekends?
Timing-wise, the Crosstour overlapped with the tremendously popular X6, so I don’t think it was a timing issue. I think it was just the styling. The X6 looked like a car a Russian mobster would drive - the Crosstour looked like something a suburban dad would drive in a desperate but failed attempt to look like said…
ew liter bikes (unless you’re talking about Ducati, Aprilia or the old Triumph Daytona 955i). Inline four cylinder bikes sound absolute shite and the idiots that rag them up and down the main streets of downtowns in cities around the world should be shot at dawn
I’ve never done a car trackday, and its definitely on my list but tbh, I don’t think the brakes would hold up very well! The STI is still a fairly heavy hector and doesn’t feel as track-ready as something like even a 981 Boxster, which stops on a dime and feels (relatively) utterly weightless.
F1 trannys aren’t autos though are they? :D :D :D
And if he kept it academic, I would be fine with Milo using the n-word (even though I think he’s a reprehensible human being). There’s no universe in which Milo would be able to not be a troll and be an academic, so the issue is, well, academic!
Pretty sure no one’s getting their ass beat sweetheart
Don’t you think that blacks should also use “n-word” when discussing Huckleberry Finn? I’m all for a ‘double standard’ in daily conversation but in academia? FOH! the same goes for queer or fag or any other word originally used by the dominant against the subaltern as a slur, and not reclaimed by said subaltern group
So even though I’ve been called a “sand nigger/nigga” I don’t get to use it even though I’m a POC? (I have a zero interest in using it)
How does a bike line through a corner differ from a car line btw? I’ve asked numerous people but have never been able to get a straight (har har) answer. I’ve done lots of bike TDs but never in a car
I’m a biker too! I hate riding on the road these days though, esp after moving back from Europe where you never have to sit behind other cars, you can always overtake!
Or you could pay $100 or so for manual lessons for your wife. Thats what I did for my gf (the STI is a bitch to learn stick on). How often does your wife drive your car anyway?? My parents both have automatic cars and I can count on one hand the number of times my mom has EVER driven my dad’s car (W222 S550).
Seriously? You go out for a drives in your Honda Accord or whatever on the weekend just for fun?? Does ANYONE go out for weekend drives in their commuter, be it a superbike or a Caterham or a Pagani? Most of the time one is too bored of one’s commuter vehicle to go out on the weekend for a fun drive, in my experience.
Or you could have just gotten a manual G37...
wages have stagnated but the prices of certain goods have decreased - TVs are cheaper, cars are cheaper etc. Part of this is a function of paying workers less than 20 years ago but it is what it is. Further, the average middle class American has more “stuff” now than they did 50 or even 20 years ago. Not disputing…
oh FOr FUCK’S SAKES! You goddamn KNOW what this kid meant, and further unfortunately, Native Americans/First Nations Peoples are still called “Indians” in the US Govt, as in the “Bureau of Indian Affairs” https://www.bia.gov/
I’ve briefly driven a Corvette, and driven a 991 for an extended period of time. The 991 doesn’t even feel as alive as something like an E63 AMG, let alone the Corvette. Dead steering, a muted engine. My dad’s runabout, a 2012 VW Bug Turbo feels more alive! This was the 991.1 S with the NA engine.
