Castle Grayskull! That was absolutely brilliant. It was an experience, just seeing it there, in my bedroom. Oh, Jesus; that took me back!

the score is simply superb. and yeah, identity blur is an intriguing topic in the movie. i love how the movie plays with what someone is and what someone does. and of course it plays with the concept of free will.
Yeah, the hypnosis and repetitive actions are quite mesmerizing (sorry for the pun)! The behavioral patterns of the characters kept me thinking for days; in a way, i feel it´s kind of a study in fractal psychology, if such a thing exists.
Perhaps it wasn´t as mindblowingly awesome as Primer, but i believe the whole lifecycle concept is quite astonishing. I loved how it gave a different perspective on the kinds of complex interactions between different species that we see and even experience everyday. And also, the music is great.
Awwwwww. We´ll miss him. And, well, 11th being the first Doctor i came in contact with, he´ll always be meaningful.
yessss!!!! i thought the exact same thing! the resemblance is uncanny!
Great article Annalee! Just thinking about all the things that have happened in the history of our species to get us to this point is overwhelming. Also, the line "Maybe a lot of those hybrid babies were the unwanted products of war" reminded me of the bit in Sufjan Stevens´s song ´Come On! Feel the Illinoise!´ where…
...or... SHE´S A TIME TRAVELER!!!
That is one of the most beautiful covers ever! I had this edition; i bought it once on a trip to the U.S. Then i lent it to a girl i liked and she never gave it back xD :(
Goodbye, Iain. Thanks for the Culture. this is always a good read—> http://nuwen.net/culture.html
It´s not as simple as that. It´s not just that the characters get killed; it´s the way those deaths occur. It´s the decisions the characters have made, the path they´ve taken to get to the point where you know they´re going to die, and how in the end those deaths happen.
At least in my case, it has to do more with what the Starks have had to deal with since Robert visited them on Winterfell. Ever since that visit, it has been nothing but blood, destruction and tears for the family.
These are all brilliant!!! And thanks for the Nimona suggestion; it´s great too!
Agreed. Bring Chevy back.
Totally! Hannibal is a freaking brilliant show! And there are enough elements that would at least make it mainstream/genre-ish
The way my country is right now (Venezuela), i don´t even know there will be a country a generation from now.
it´s like that hannibal episode! well, yeah, we´re basically super(relatively)smart walking microvivaria
Reminds me of Alan Weisman´s The World Without Us.
Absolutely agreed. io9 is the best site when it comes to everything awesome.
this looks better and better. i feel it is going to be to evangelion what chronicle was to akira!
