Merry Christmas
Happy Holidays to everyone at the AV Club. Hope your loved ones enjoy the Christmas presents you buy with all the cash you reaped selling review copies to the pawn shop.

Workman's Comp-man
Boy, the last time I wanted to see a Broadway musical this bad was…ummm…I've never wanted to see a Broadway musical. I'm not gay, a tourist from Iowa or a nice little old Jewish lady from Long Island who likes to see musicals with nuns acting bawdy. But this! THIS! Sounds vastly entertaining.

What? There are no links to AVClub stories about…
…Danny Bonaduce, Michael Lohan, Tonya Harding, Rodney King, and Willie Aames.???

I thought it was phony and the Google confirmed the identity of Claudia Kishi.

I was expecting the video to be academic and boring. Turns out it's the best fap material this side of PornTube,

I don't get it
"…spot the wonder dog"?

I always thought if I steal a movie off the internet, I'm obligated to watch it all the way through. Then I downloaded the "A-Team."

I thought the Bansky shtick was tired as hell, but the movie is damn good. To explain it would spoil it. So watch it.

"The Other Guys" is certainly entertaining but it's a pretty run the mill buddy-cop action parody that's been done more than once.

I want to hate Franco but I just cant. And the "Acting with James Franco" short (linked above) was pretty goddamn funny.

Creative Commons Comedy
When I first saw that I swore it was the Creative Commons logo and the AV Club was going all open-source or something.

@the dog pretty much hijacked this thread by posting a link to a Crispin Glover music video.

Paul Coker was also a big part of the house style of Rankin-Bass and even as a kid, I could recognize his style from Mad magazine.

"chop on their shoulders" should read "chip on their shoulders"…although if you want to dance with a piece of pork or lamb on your person, I won't judge.

The Slackers. The Slackers. The Slackers. It's really hard to explain just how good the Slackers are live to folks who are going to have a chop on their shoulders about ska. And it's a reasonable attitude given the sheer number of awful, well-meaning ska bands out there. I've seen them more times than I can count and

In context, Stanley's basso-profundo stage patter is cringe-worthy. In YouTube videos, it is quite hilarious.

Back home in Indie, Annie Halsam
I only listen to indie bands and watch indie movies.

The Gylne with the Dragon Tider
I like seeing who the Norwegian equivalency of say, George Wendt or Jason Alexander are.

The "Wilhelm Scream" is included in the book and the attached sound playing gizmo. I'm still looking for a clean copy of it. And if you want to shell out $500, you can buy the LucasFilm sound effects library with a heap (though not all) of Star Wars sound effects. The $500 sounds pricey but it includes a license to

Yeah, I wanted to go with KISS but I just didn't have the nerve or the stomach for the flames (no pun intended.) That said, I'm not that eager to see the latest once-or-twice-removed iteration of the band, but I'll certainly go if it's in the area. And also: for such a full-on show, they seem to keep the prices down.
