Good points, but you’re forgetting the driving design consideration of the F-35 that makes it so damned expensive: it’s supposed to be a single platform that all the services use to drive down maintenance and supply costs. The Army and Air-Force aren’t going to start flying f/a-18's any time soon.

No one, he is actually removing value from the stock market when he makes comments like this and eroding investor confidence. That’s the point, they are punitive measures against companies that are critical of him.

2001? Remember when China crashed into and then stole our airplane?

This is just China trying to hide the evidence that they invented global warming! Why else would they be capturing drones measuring environmental data?!

How could he possibly call this situation unprecedented (unpresidented)? Is he really not aware of the Hainan Island incident from 2001? In that incident, China detained 24 Navy air crew, and they actually kept the EP-3E signals aircraft that they recovered. I guess the only difference there is that we probably really

Actually, I think that’s exactly what they are alleging happened. They didn’t change votes by tampering with the ballots, they changed votes by tampering with the voters (which is really much easier and more effective anyway). I know it’s something of a semantic argument, but I think it holds up.

Maybe the solution here is that a news story can report on a known false statement like that as long as they identify it as a false statement. For instance, CNN has started printing things like Trump Claims He Won Popular Vote (He Didn’t) and I think that’s totally fine.

Uber is kind of the Walmart of transportation. Everyone knows they are terrible, everyone knows they pay their employees shit and they probably aren’t too good for the local economies; but none of that matters if your only allegiance is to the lowest price and they know that.

I don’t know about valid. I accept his premise that no one knows exactly how dramatic climate change will be. I do not accept his conclusion that this means its better to solve the engineering problem of adapting to climate change than it is to solve the engineering problem of preventing it.

I had to laugh when the power of these xmas lights brings a burglar to his knees. Are these things shooting out gamma rays or something? lol.

I just can’t actually figure out if this is legitimately what conservatives WANT. I mean, if you believe in small government, it seems like assigning people who want to eliminate a department to head that department makes perfect sense.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an epoch-shatteringly stupid thing to do; but that

If they want to write a blog post (instead of a microblog post) why don’t they just write their longer expressions on a wordpress blog, or to their Facebook page and then just link to that content in their Tweets?

I don’t do Twitter, maybe I am missing something.

I don’t know a ton about Twi’lek physiology

DOE, I think you know what to do here:

Even so, if they use Android as opposed to iOS or their own in-house software; there’s a half way decent chance they’ll use a processor that can run a Linux kernel other than the Android one. With a little bit of cleverness, you might be able to get your CentOS automotive.

If they start using Android to drive those consoles, maybe you won’t have to.

With an accurate enough clock on the car, you could solve the problem. Just have the car bounce a signal the fob and back to measure the distance, if it’s too far away you don’t open the door.

I’m aware of those devices, but if what Agilis says is true, this new device is a variation on that theme. It records the signal to play it back later, and that’s the kind of thing that could be solved by an encrypted, rolling key code instead of the method they currently use,

No, the important distinction of the device outlined above it that it doesn’t require the real key to be present; so it doesn’t just facilitate communication between the real key and the car. It spoofs the key; this is what encryption can solve.

Imagine if, instead of just broadcasting the same key code all the time,
