It's not as simple as just "not upgrading". If your computer totally craps out on you and you have to get a new one there is NO LONGER an option to even get 7. ...Unless there is some black market I don't know about but would totally support.
I get if you want to wear something like this off duty, but at work? Around already confused and easily impressionable children? Protest or support all you want, just not at work, especially something in the public sector.

Computers in the classroom annoy me. I can't stand hearing the constant clicking/typing. Plus so many of the students are doing something irrelevant to the current class.
