The more I read about this team of self-proclaimed translators, the more they strike me as a bunch of insufferable, entitled teenagers who contribute not a whole lot, preferring to complain and complain some more.

This.

That’s crazy talk. DON’T YOU KNOW THAT NINTENDO’S IP IS NOT THERES TO DO WITH WHAT THEY WISH?! It belongs to the -fans-.

It would be so much better, if those people could translate (or finish translating) some of the earlier FE games, which have never been (and probably never will be) released outside Japan.

Could these fan translators dig their grave any harder with those threats and actions against Patrick? They’re afraid of their precious fan translation might get weaponized for shitflinging and yet they pull moves you’d see on KiA’s playbook. They’re not fooling anybody.

Gamers are embarrassingly whiny.

But then they couldn’t make some stupid point about how nintendo’s localization of games is literally the worst thing since hitler.

Sounds like a group of jerks.

This is dumb. People are dumb.

Oh look, the flaky elitists are back at it again.

okay I have a crazy idea

I don’t get it. If someone is that upset about a company “censoring” its own game, can’t they just, you know, not buy it?

this conversation won’t end because people like you insist you’ve a point to make and that all the abuse your associates and friends indulge in shouldn’t be brought up. Kindly, get over yourself.

FWIW I’ve always gotten a kick out of GamerGators accusing other people of being pedophiles, since one of their main hangouts, 8chan, is a notorious child porn hub, even being de-listed from Google search results because of it.

Ugggggggh.

Alternately, you could assume that since this article is specifically about harassment that you have nothing to do with, it isn’t about you...?

What Nintendo is doing is not censorship. It’s content curation that they’re entitled to do on THEIR product. They’re not curtailing anyone’s speech.

Ironically, while Rapp has become a symbol of the supposedly nefarious social justice warriors censoring Japanese games, she’s being attacked with an essay in which she argued that Japanese culture should stay Japanese.

Reminder: It’s not censorship if it’s not the government doing it.

So a bunch of fucking weeaboos got their panties in a twist over “censorship”
