A good point. I have extremely large hands for a woman; perhaps average-sized for a man. Long fingers, though. Women's XL gloves, men's M or L. I can reach a 12th on the piano. Does that help? :)

Yeah, it came out in time for last year's holiday season, but I've dropped this on some folks since then for birthdays etc, and it's always worth it.

Yeah, this is one thing I meant to touch on—I only played on servers marked rookie-friendly, and indeed, all of them were pretty much as advertised, and not at all hostile to the new and noob. Which was quite refreshing and a delight to find, in fact.

Yeah, although I just said "cut wires in the order they appear in the image" and the agent did it correctly.

SPOILER: Once you've gotten that kind of Pink Floyd image, tell the agent to cut the wires in the order they appear in the image. ;)

The Nights of the Dead are delightful! (At least, I enjoyed them for six years. Still have a house vault box full of black and purple candles, somewhere.) But in the end I had to keep it to the newest, biggest MMOs or go mad chasing down a hundred games.

I asked about mods and they're still something the team is thinking about for the future, but has not yet made any progress toward.

I did pick up skinning! I have learned from nearly a decade of MMO experience as a rogue that I will always do well to be able to harvest and craft my own armor, hehe. I just have to backtrack to lower-level zones (because I picked up skinning in Stormwind, but was already level ~15 by the time I got there and found Read more

Sorry, typo on my part left a word out. Yes, it's DLC map packs when released individually (probably quarterly, it sounds like); updating the article to correct.

Close. Weeks spent on the road with many in-laws and an old laptop that had not much in the way of reliable internet or could run much of anything.

Right, but I still don't understand how it can possibly be using that much power. It's a keyboard with LED backlighting. I've never had one of those need a dedicated power source before. How power-intensive can a keyboard be? In something like the Razer Deathstalker Ultimate (the one with the whole touchscreen Read more

See, that's the kind of thing that would have been really useful for the tutorial pop-ups or whatnot to tell me. I went through the key bindings before I started moving around, to look for obvious shortcuts I might not know, but didn't find that one. Read more

I was at UMass. :) We drew the border of the map around the four square mile limitations of campus, which gave us buildings as well as some more woodsy areas to play with.

When I was in college, in western Massachusetts, some friends and I developed our own annual scavenger hunt game. I may write it up sometime, but I can strongly suggest setting aside a Saturday and getting a half-dozen of your buddies in on the action!

Oh, I know. I explored the cities (Rata Sum, Hoelbrak, etc) that way. It's just more fun to be bumbling through a place like Kessex Hills and discover that Brisban Wildlands is right next to it and then you can exit from there and...

If you want to play a game that's only available to you through the Microsoft games hub (I used Solitaire and Minesweeper to test it out, but hey, you know, I do kind of enjoy my Freecell...) then it's not all that optional at all.

What's actually interesting about the time I've spent with Windows 8 is just how heavily I've come to rely on the keyboard. Alt+F4 is about the best way to close many full-screen programs quickly and alt-tab immediately became my favorite way to tell what was running and switch to it. Keyboard shortcuts are great!
