They killed it without any warning or send-off on purpose, to show that they not only didn’t respect or value Splinter, but that they had open contempt for its content and its staff. Read more

The death of Splinter and Deadspin have really f’d me up; I still come here a few times a day, hoping one of the remaining sites will emerge with an interesting political voice. It’s becoming clear that that’s not going to happen. Aside from io9, I’m having a hard time finding much value on the network to speak of. Read more

How Splinter and Deadspin were handled was atrocious, the having Splinter go dead and having no announcement whatsoever was shitty on the part of Spamfiller and Madman. They should have dropped in a post like this when they pulled the plug.

I wish your shithead executives would let you and your readers publicly mourn Splinter. It is missed.

Hmmm. Lose conservative Democrats who would throw people under the bus where it matters most in districts they’re slowly (or not so slowly) losing anyway, or... potentially set a dangerous precedent for future corrupt Presidents thereby allowing propagation of such actions for decades to come by staking everything on Read more

Fuck Reason and every disingenuous cretin that writes for them and supports their increasing flirtation with the far-right. It’s basically Quillette-lite now, and abhorrent trolls like Cathy Young as why. White privilege run amok combined with pseudo-intellectualism that’s off the charts.  Read more
