Boltman: “Thank you...”
...and that’s why you always check the grays before making an obvious response. whatever the abbreviation is for when you realize somebody said the same thing as you did sooner.
On ex-presidents: I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and started reading this book. I didn’t buy it because I’m a cheap ass millennial and I can just go back to Barnes and Noble to finish it, but the president twitter question made me think of it. Seems like the relationships between former presidents are pretty…
That’s great, Ty, but you really need to stop drinking and driving then! You’re gonna crash the car!
I know I’ve gone for far lower fruit than this. Sometimes even digging it out of the ground.
That’s not totally true though - Kafka wanted his work destroyed, Emily Dickinson never had plans of going public. What I will admit makes it somewhat different is that we do have a clearer picture of exactly what the book was and a pretty clear picture that Lee didn’t want to publish it - whereas with some of those…
I like the way they think.
Look, I’m as impressed as anybody about the resurrection of Nate Reuss’s career, but I don’t think he had anything to do with the Home Run Derby.
hey, i just met you
stop breaking the law, son!
On the one hand, it’s really creepy and weird how this book is coming out when it sure seems like Lee herself didn’t want it to. On the other hand, would any of us want Kafka’s work to just not exist? I’m not sure if I’m going to read Go Set A Watchman - if it turns out it’s simply not very good, maybe it won’t…
This derby will be head and shoulders above those of previous years. Why, one might call it the best a man can get!
Every generation has that, don’t they? Heck, I smile with nostalgia at “I Want It That Way” (not that it’s a good song, but it’s *our* song) while being utterly confused as to why anybody would like One Direction. And the cycle continues...
I was born in 1989, so way too young to experience them when they came out. I saw Pulp Fiction at 14, when I was considerably more squeamish than I am now. It’s possible I would like it now, but it was so disgusting when I watched it that I have a hard time thinking I would. Should try it again someday. As for…
Oh no, not at all! I love Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Shawshank Redemption, etc. Smells Like Teen Spirit and Pulp Fiction are exceptions because they are viscerally awful and unappealing.
In the pantheon of media that people are supposed to think is amazing but I can’t stand, Smells Like Teen Spirit trails only Pulp Fiction. But this is awesome, and genuinely made me excited. Up is down, black is white, and maybe Quentin Tarantino isn’t horrible now. I know nothing anymore.
I mentioned in another thread that Luke Ridnour played 82 games starting all 82 twice and 82 games starting 0 once, thought it was weird, and took to Basketball-Reference to see how many people have done that. The list of people who have gone 82 G- 82 GS (523 player-seasons, 268 unique players) and 82 G - 0 GS (61…
There are many amazing things about Luke Ridnour. One of my favorites is that he has played 82 games in three different seasons: 2004-05, 2009-10, and 2012-13. In the first and last of those he started every single game. In the middle one he didn’t start any games at all. That’s just weird. And awesome.
