That public defender will absolutely be laughing about this as well, don’t you worry.

For this sort of thing, it is MUCH more efficient than gathering a crowd of people into a building somewhere while they wait for their 5 minutes in front of a judge. They do many dozens of cases a day.
I can understand it in certain circumstances, like traffic court. Some people are at a disadvantage when it comes to transportation, childcare, or low-wage jobs with strict attendance policies. Being able to appear by Zoom for only a few minutes and removing the time-suck of getting to the courthouse, finding the…
Easiest case to prosecute? Literally phoning it in. :-D Except it was the *defendant* phoning in the prosecution’s best evidence!
Someone needs to slap a Daytime Emmy on that judge, because he kept his composure in a way that I never in a million years could when presented with a dude, who couldn’t be bothered to be in court, who Zooms into his hearing about his suspended license, from behind the wheel of his own car.
Edit - I went back and watched the video. The guy was actively driving and treating this like he just got a call from a friend. He didn’t even pull over before getting on camera...
The look on the judge’s face said everything, along with the long WTF pause. OMG do stupid things, win stupid prizes.
He’s travelling not driving.
Huh, so they’ve made the Soul electric now?
Maybe people are still buying them because they are informed consumers that understand that the models they are buying are not vulnerable like the older models that are being stolen. Maybe, you know, consumers decided that they should opt for the models with immobilizers.
My Ioniq 5 is not at risk of the same exploit…
In other news, Kia just made a LWB i3!
Hot take. The US best bet to combat the “evil threat of BYD” is to subsidize Kia and Hyundai vehicles. American manufacturers simply are not innovative enough to generate demand.
“The truck tried to murder me today after it broke down on my first drive. Totally my fault though, still love Tesla!”
The Cybertruck is a “beast” in the same way that a Vespa scooter is a “hog.”
“above and beyond” = Teslastan for doing the bare minimum, and only when insisting in public.
Sounds like they gave him a glass of Kool-Aid too....
Make the first offense an automatic license revocation and crush the truck. Bitch about your freedoms while taking the bus.
Because it’s different purely for the sake of being different, shifting disrupted.
Given how long it has been since it was debuted, it should be having its mid cycle refresh this year.
They’ll fix it in the mid-cycle re- (sorry, I can’t finish that statement or my lungs will literally collapse laughing).
