Cool; they aren’t rumors when women speak up on the condition of anonymity.

Sure, it’s all about ethics in video game journalism. I got you.
It’s on your own head, then.
But you don’t think the fact that these rumors were circulating through sites like Jezebel made publications like the NYT start looking for an opportunity to investigate? How many of these public outings started with rumors or in Cosby’s case, a one-off joke from Hannibal Buress?
Have you read the New York Times yet?
Seriously, thank you, Jezebel for calling out this piece of sh** year’s ago.
A friend of a friend laid into me so hard on FB becuase I dared suggest that we keep our eyes open with CK that our mutual friend sent me a personal message to apologize. I didn’t even say CK was guilty, all I said was that we’d just seen Bill Cosby’s collapse—maybe when we start to hear multiple rumors about a…
There have now been accusations. Four from named sources, and one from an anonymous source.
For real. Anna’s call in September and all the ensuing comments about how Jezebel needs to stop trying to beat a dead horse was the first thing I thought about when I saw this story. Also, I was in the middle of reading the comment on the Corey Haim/Charlie Sheen story about “when will the witch hunt end?” when my…
Read it and weep, motherfucker:
Found one for you.
They’re in the NYT article comment section. I’m not a sensitive person but its a swamp of ‘well he asked them for consent, didn’t he so its not like he violated anyone’ or ‘well its not illegal to commit a sexual act in front of someone if you don’t touch them’ that’s triggering as fuuuuck.
A-FREAKING-men. I came here for all the delicious I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO-s. BELIEVE WOMEN, assholes. Believe women.
Anna, we know you’ve been working on this story for fucking ages and even through the NYTimes is breaking it, I’m sure your diligence and professionalism laid the groundwork. Just know that we see you and appreciate you.
Even outside of the specifics of Infinity Ward and Respawn - us devs play a lot of musical chairs - we move around a lot from studio to studio. The industry is tough enough as it is without nastiness like folks in marketing outright saying a game another studio is making is crappy.
I work in Social Media for vidya companies. I’ve said some pretty wild stuff as brands. However, the place where they draw the line is taking shots at other pubs and devs. The only time I’ve gotten in trouble is because of those sorts of tweets.
Whether you like or hate the other side, you know that they work their…
It’s OK! You’re not the only one who didn’t follow, which is on me. I actually just added a bit more context to the article to ensure everyone gets the full story here.
Thanks for the explanation! Sorry for the snark in my initial post :)
The controversy is that clearly the developers at Respawn don’t want to publicly trash their colleagues at Infinity Ward (the devs of Infinite Warfare), but EA is doing it on their behalf. You may remember, BTW, that Respawn was formed from a large contingent of people departing Infinity Ward, so there’s no doubt that…
