I'm not sure when we went from "women don't have to be anorexic to be beautiful" to "let's celebrate obesity", but it's kind of unfortunate.

I really loved Feast, and to a much lesser extent Dragons, but you're right that not a lot actually happens in those books. They're interesting in a world building sense, not so much in terms of action.

We should probably just ban alcohol.

Shotguns are great in close quarters; that's why the police/military use them. The bigger problem is that shotguns have a lot of kick, so if you don't have good form and good upper body strength they'll knock you on your ass/dislocate your shoulder.

Ugh, Hampden.

I'd suggest not buying drugs in most foreign countries unless you really loved Brokedown Palace.

I can't think of a single "great" movie he has made. 300 was by far his best and it was just "pretty good".

It's worse than that. He was for gay marriage in 1996 when he ran for the Illinois state senate, when he ran again in 1998 he was "undecided", by 2004 when he was running for the US Senate he was completely against gay marriage, and now he's for it again.

All I want is for them not to waste time and resources creating a terrible "adventure" mode.

The vegan police are out in force on this post. Please tell me more about how much delicious pus is in my milk!

What law of physics is she defying? Isn't this just an example of angular momentum? Like a gyroscope?

That's definitely true. I'm just saying the "gun show loophole" is overblown. I have yet to see a study that says that any more than a few percent of guns used in crimes were purchased at gun shows.

It's a difference of scale. I don't think I've ever heard of a pirate giving the files to exactly one other person and then deleting their own copy.

Oh wonderful, another quack saying that bread is unhealthy for people without celiac problems.

Which doesn't account for the fact that the vast majority of gun sales at gun shows are not considered private sales and thus require the same background checks and whatnot as a purchase at a regular ol' gun store.

In what universe is it easier to get a gun than a library card?

Just thinking about those books makes me hungry. Please Brian Jacques, describe some more food for me!

"Although the census numbers of children in Chicago have fallen, the percentage of students attending public schools has in fact risen over the past 10 years by over 10%."

They were half empty schools. Many of these schools have seen a 60-80% enrollment decline over the last 10 years. Should Chicago pay to keep them open just because they happen to be in black neighborhoods?
