This might be the point you sound like an old man yelling at clouds.
“Crunch is a failure in management. They didn’t adequately plan enough time for a realistic scope and now they’re making the workers grind their health and life into dust so that our pixels look pretty enough.”
Fans can wait. Investors cannot.
I just know that for me, Patch Tuesday is always preceded by Activate “Pause updates for 7 days” Monday.
The thing about TVs is that they are so darn reliable. My wife and I splurged more than fifteen years ago; it may have been twenty, it’s hard to remember. We bought a 46" Sony at Sears, almost two grand as it was top of the line. It still works fine, sound is good and we don’t play games on it or use apps or anything,…
So, you spent the money on a rapidly-depreciating asset? That was a guarateed loss of the money rather than a speculative one.
That would assume that your intended wanted the ring as a temporary investment that she planned on hocking after a while. Not very romantic in my eyes, but YMMV. My soon to be wife was in greater need of a good set of wheels than a piece of compressed carbon.
Rather than plunking down a bunch of money on something that could get dropped and lost, you could do what I did when I got engaged. My soon to be wife was driving a rust bucket; literally had a hole rusted through the roof and holes in the floorboards. So instead of a diamond ring I made the down payment on a new car…

That might not have been much help in a situation of loss of engine control (as stated) but certainly a good knowledge of the channel and currents is always useful. Also I wonder if they have tugs available on emergency call. Have to see if I…

“My boss in the early 00s had a 2001 Grand Caravan, and I got to drive it from Indy to OKC and back. It’s a very capable highway cruiser”
Thanks for letting me know about that, I'll check into it.
“Payment history and credit utilization together make up 65% of your score”
I used to turn on and leave my blinker on when sitting in turn only lanes, but the sound is rather loud and my wife finds it objectionable. So we compromise, I turn on the blinker briefly then turn it off if there is no one who would benefit from seeing the blinker (IE, oncoming traffic).
I wasn’t saying that I considered the use of hydrogen in cars an issue, I just know from life experience that mentioning “hydrogen” to some people does conjure up the Hindenburg. The unfamiliar does sometimes scare people.
Kristen, thanks for the great article.
