As another dealer... The koon group (that just sounds bad) is so bad that we won't even deal with them on trades. They're pretty well known for the wrong reasons unfortunately.
I had a customer recently trade in a truck for $26k that he bought from me for around $20k around 3 years ago.
It's easier to get a new truck loan with bad credit than it is a used truck with bad credit. The people buying the used trucks are typically the "it's always stupid to buy new" crowd that think they know it all. Look, my job in sales is to help you, the better I do my job, the more likely you are to come back to me… Read more
Failed and burnt out is not how I would describe them and certainly not the type of person you want in that office if you want your dealership to make money. The F&I office is the most profitable four walls in most dealerships.
Not sure if you noticed but the vehicle has a wheelchair lift in the bed which means it was likely equipped with hand control's. As someone who has driven with them before, it's not always easy to hit the brake without twisting for the throttle a little. Looks like the driver had his hands for and panicked a little… Read more
Those are some painfully slow 0-60 times considering the power that these things make....
GM has been making ventilators too but unlike Ford and Chrysler, they were still able to turn a solid profit last quarter.

This is especially true with trucks, which are seeing the majority of the big deals. With that being said, most plants aren’t expected to open until at least mid month which means that most dealers… Read more

It’s likely not under bad intentions but honesty would go a long way in this situation. It could be as simple as the sales person being off or… Read more
Not everything has been roses as you know but the situation has certainly had an unexpected impact to our business. In the car business you quickly learn to make your money while you can and stock some extra away for a rainy day. That day is likely still coming but we're currently still on the upswing. The issue is… Read more
All dealerships in our area are open for business unless they choose to do otherwise. None in my direct region have down this however. With that being said, right now we’re hearing a lot of “We’re bored and wanted to get out so we figured we would come buy a car.” as well as "We weren't planning on doing anything… Read more
We sell both new and pre-owned in Ohio. We’re a Chevrolet and Buick dealership.
I’m in sales and I just finished out the best month I have EVER had in 8+ years of selling cars. As a dealership, we also had the best April that we’ve had in over 20 years. Things aren’t as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Of course some places are down but our dealership is proof that it’s largely a mindset.… Read more
