I did a couple of stints as a barista at Starbucks, and I agree, even though there are trade “standards,” there isn’t any really policing this stuff, and it’s all made up anyway. I tend to think Starbucks’ espresso sucks - their blonde roast espresso is much better, but yeah... there’s way better espresso out there.

Nah, French Roast is darker. I think a lot of people are accustomed to Starbucks Espresso roast (which is still not as dark as French Roast), or, as you say pre-ground espresso roast. That stuff is roasted so dark both to mask crappy beans and produce a consistent product.

Yeah I think it’s probably similar in roast to something like French Roast, which is super dark and makes.

Are you using a paper filter? If so, switch to a finer one so the water sits with the coffee for a longer time

Use a finer grind setting and more grinds

Eh, if you have beans roasted for espresso that you grind right, you can definitely use them for regular coffee. Won’t taste or feel the same, but it should be fine.

Eh we don’t use a gooseneck. It takes a little more control, but it’s fine.

Thank you! This article was pretty annoying. Pour-over rocks! My wife and I have been using pour-over almost exclusively for like 7 years.

Pour over does not take 15 minutes! And you don’t need filters if you get the Bodum with the metal filter.

Wow. This guy. He cuts someone off, break-checks him, and then premeditatedly starts shooting at him.

I doubt it - the Explorer has a hybrid and an independent rear suspension. The Lexus is also rocking the live axle, and it has a twin turbo non-hybrid V6 for some reason. They developed a global platform and the live axle saves money, but they can charge market price for each iteration.

I’d be more persuaded by the idea that it’s a cost-saving measure

The interior looks great but that exterior, especially in white.. Wow it’s so hideous.

Hmm... I think the Tahoe/Suburban has a way nicer exterior than this crazy thing.

Yeah there are a couple, but with options sticker is like $24k which is pretty close to your $15k number, to be honest. There are some Imprezas near me whose window stickers aren’t showing a markup for around $22k.

Nah you’re not paying a $5k markup on a base HRV

Man at that price you’re better off financing a new HRV for $10k more... jesus If a manual is necessary, then get an Impreza or Crosstrek

At the risk of being pedantic, the ad actually calls the car a “Luxry Beast,” which is just ~chef’s kiss~

It’s only got 23 miles on it, for whatever that’s worth...

It makes sense to me why they’d do it - if they’re going to have a Japanese auto manufacturer build the cars for them, they want to have mobility be a different business unit so those same manufacturers don’t feel like they’re competing with a supplier when they put Sony radios or displays in cars.
