What's fair have to do with ANYTHING at this point?
Fair would be discussing this matter as equals.
Fair would not be excusing the trolling of one party and denouncing the reaction of another party to said trolling on the basis of 'society isn't perfect, so some people are excused and others are not.'

1. I wasn't pretending to sound anything, and I'll modulate my approach as I like.
2. I never said misogyny didn't exist. Heck, I didn't even say that it's impossible for this to fail in part due to misogyny. The point is a shitty movie, if indeed this turns out as the trailer makes it look, is not the thesis

What the hell? You admit the original post was inflammatory, but label the person who calls the poster on it's inflammatory nature the troll?
And 'mindless feminism' is exclusively the realm of the trolls, but 'white male nerds' and 'pathetic cowards' you let pass?

Bogira is why we can't have nice things.

What a load of horseshit. Feig, McCarthy, and Wiig have already helmed massive box office hits, and Jones and McKinnon have received near universal love on SNL.
But for some reason, Feig [the lone male among them] has publically positioned this as a referendum on gender equality instead of what it is, a summer movie.

Can I make up ad hoc aphorisms and pretend they're generally accepted too?
Better yet, can I just also make up shitty assessments of others and pretend they're glossed over with a smile?

ROFL - to be fair, I DID say I couldn't wait. Thanks for the little burst of ism to tide me over.

Can't wait for the lack of box office receipts to be blamed on our deep seated misogyny as a nation.

All this talk of the '3s' and no mention of both being purple?

It's not about changing minds. It's about dressing down anyone who irritates you. ;)

Or maybe he mocks for humor, but isn't so hateful as to think his mocking is the gospel to be preached at the person mocked when interacting face to face.

I wouldn't agree that Colbert has neutered himself for network.
He got mock confrontational with a testy [baked?] Casey Affleck.
He got actual confrontational with Kasich.
He got downright froggy with Maher
He geeked out on Catholicism with Patty Heaton.
He let DeRay Mckesson run the segment.

I like Kimmel, and enjoy his set bits [2nd only to Conan], but I don't have a burning desire to watch either of their entire episodes. Just the stuff good enough to make it to youtube. Don't DISlike Fallon, but his set bits haven't impressed me, and his 'that's so awesome man' interviewing style is not interesting.

Winston is homeless?

It makes Rizzoli and Isles infinitely more watchable

Yeah, that stuck out like a sore thumb. This family and their friends have engaged in the gamut of the lowest of scummery, violence and criminality, but it's an offhand remark of cultural appropriation between strangers is the straw that broke this camel's back.

She's a horse!!

Though Bernsen is a bit of a movie black hole [does anyone know if sequels qualify as a turn, ie, Major League: Back to the Minors?], the rest of the movie game was a bit stultifying.
Is anyone of their age, let alone a group that close to the movie business, that unaware of Jennifer Grey in FBDO? Or would any of them

This points to the central quandry with Lena. She writes this show as though she is cognizant of some of the insufferability and egocentrism of current culture, but accords her public life as if these mores are deadly serious and impervious to so much as an eyeroll.
