+1. I do not auto-pay any bill. I have calendar reminders set in my phone, on Google calendar, and on my work PC. I feel much more in control when paying them every month.

My mortgage is on autopay, and has been for 14 years. Number of times the mortgage was sold to a new servicer, or we moved? Over 5. Number of times I've ever had a problem? Zero. That's true. Though for things that are static in nature - the mortgage doesn't change month to month - I'd almost always rather have an autopay set up. For variable bills, I automate some that I trust, and manually take care of others. Risk management, when it comes right down to it.
