I’m all for experimentation, when it’s to bring new, exciting ideas to a series. I’m all for experimentation when its fundamentally shaking up the way a series plays or how the player interacts with it...but this ain’t that. They’re not experimenting with anything here, they’ve just bolted on the same, grindy

First off, I am playing Youngblood solo, and will not be playing it with anyone because it’s a fucking Wolfenstein game. If it’s explicitly designed for co-op, then it should only be playable in co-op. If it was co-op only, If you give me the option to play anything solo, I will play solo. That’s just how I do.

That

To be honest its just the way THEY do Switch versions, which is usually least possible effort

Misogynistic? I think the show has done a pretty solid job of throwing dirt on all the traditional male roles — way back to Ned Stark (the noble handsome hero). And when has a story ever killed the honorable young son on a quest for vengeance? One who gets the girl of his dreams? And the poor fool doesn’t even get to

If you thought this show was ever going to end in a happy / satisfying way then you have not been paying attention at all.

The entire POINT of Game of Thrones is to deconstruct and throw away standard fantasy tropes and create an experience where people do not have happy endings and where the heroes do not win just by

Sansa and Arya say hi.

Were you not watching in all the incidents before this where she did bad things in service to trying to get to the Iron Throne, including brother-cide/usurpation of the true heir, Crucifixions, burnings of innocents, pillaging with the Dothraki, sacking three whole cities, freeing slaves but not helping them,

i think the show is “women are people and they do good and bad things just like men do!”

Wow, the PC crowd has really twisted you. It’s entertainment, not a political statement! Try being entertained for 90 minutes instead of a constant state of “outrage”. You might just find out life is much better leaving the political, PC bullshit behind!

Seriously a stupid criticism but also exactly what I expected to see at the top of the comments.

You’re an idiot. Conveniently you ignore all the women who were in power or major affectors of the power struggle. Cersei was the most powerful person in Westeros from the moment her father died. Dany was all female power. Arya slew the Night King. What more could you possibly want?

Misogynistic show?... GTFO.

Oh fuck off you dumb cunt.  The entire show has women in power, the little girl kills the most powerful being in the show.  The most powerful Queen was the show’s biggest hero till this last season, and the most hated person was Cerci.  All female.   Shove that moronic ThIs ShOw iS aBoUt MaLe aGeNda  in your own nasty

Nah, the show was trying to give us a twist to the hero’s journey, only the “heroine” is also a conqueror with a messiah complex. What did people think would happen when someone with the equivalent of fantasy napalm bombs would be told she can’t be queen? Is it fair? No. But when has GoT been fair?

treats sex not like a win-state, nor a titillating cutscene, but as a living part of an ever-changing relationship. We don’t have to treat sex like something divorced from the narrative of the game, nor do we have to act like it only exists for the player’s enjoyment. Good sex in games, as rare as it is, should be

You should calm down. It’s just a show, dude.

I will shout this until the day I die but this game has the best use of the ATB and job system to date in any FF title.

Great article, thanks for putting this all together, and big respect to the current and previous Bioware devs that spoke to you for this. The industry in general is sort of a mess, and the Bioware studios seem to have their own specific issues too, and they’re never going to get solved by pretending everything is fine.

Kids today are going to have nostalgia about things like PewDiePie and Paul Logan and the days before the Water Raiders started attacking the settlements on the Nevada Coast.

I’m sure the endless nerd jokes here will be immensely entertaining.
