It’s weird to be sure. But it also strikes me as not terribly different than watching adults play games like football and baseball, and that’s a huge industry. And I say that as someone who likes watching sports.

Very good.

Bingo. My kid goes and plays with other kids after school most days. They go in the field behind the houses and sometimes a bit further. I think this is a good thing. Still it’s nice to be able to call him home if he’s not paying attention to the time or if I need to run an errand.

The Keurig is great for people who like to drink terrible coffee brewed in melting plastic that costs $30 a pound.

I am also a Hornets can and can also confirm the extreme buttness of Frank Kaminsky. And with the Hornets not completely awful so far this year (last game notwithstanding) his buttness is extremely exposed.

I think elementary kids these days have the anti-bullying stuff drilled into them at an early age and are generally better than the previous generation. My son loves sports, plays soccer, basketball, and baseball and does swim team in the summer. As far as skill goes he’s very much average, and he plays with a mix of

This is another reason to hate the fucking Cubs.

I grew up in southwest Missouri, and I know College of the Ozarks well. When I used to visit for various local school competitions it wasn’t so bad. In the last decade that place has gone full on crazy, as has a not insignificant segment of the American population.

“Excuse me” is my strategy, too.

No way. English lacks a second person plural form and y’all is as good as any. I used to fight it, but now I have accepted its usefulness when talking to y’all.

I grew up in a home that ignored sneezing. My parents never said “Bless You” or any of its iterations to me so the whole concept of talking to someone when they sneeze is ridiculous to me.

My wife, however, finds it impolite that I don’t say anything when she sneezes. So for a while I took to saying “I have

That is such a weird take from a fan base that just lost one of the most exciting young running backs in the league to a season-ending injury on a completely routine play.

That’s funny. I had a housemate in college who was from Iowa and he legitimately could not smell. I know this is true because he would let his room get unbelievably stinky and he wouldn’t notice it. When it got to the point where closing the door could not contain it, we had to tell him to clean it.

I think this is

Honestly, I think most of them stick with Trump because admitting that they were wrong about him means admitting that the libtards were actually right and many (most? all?) of them would rather drown in their own shit than admit that.

They already sort of turned on Dale Earnhardt Jr for saying he thought the kneeling was ok. But I don’t know NASCAR enough to know if that means anything.

I could be wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that even developmental academies in soccer nations don’t keep score all the time because they like to move kids around to get them experience at many positions and they want the motivation to be experience and learning and not so much competition. This is true even

I agree. I don’t think soccer is any more cerebral than traditionally American sports. Reading defenses in football, determining when to break a guy down versus pass in basketball, the mind game between a pitcher and a batter. Those are all a marriage of brain and skill, just in different ways.

My U9 kid plays 5 a side on a 1/3 size pitch, as does everybody in my city’s youth rec league. It’s cool, you can see them develop vision and spacing. Not saying my son is going to be the next Pulisic (he definitively won’t even though he has lots of fun playing with his friends), but the developmental stuff is

Messi could have been a slot receiver or a Steve Nash.

Barely, the US didn’t show up for the 1st one until it was pretty much over.
