This MANUAL Coffeemaker by Craighton Berman was developed to appear as a freestanding appliance, and not just a kitchen accessory. The drip is slow, and has a wall around the cup to help keep the heat in.
The Parabola Chair by Carlo Aiello Design Studio is based on a hyperbolic paraboloid, which allows the curved, flowing wire mesh to be construct from metal rods that are actually straight. The frame is the only pieces that are bent. This means the piece is easy to manufacture and construct. [Design Milk]
This is definitely not a staircase for those with dogs or small children. Still, I'm really fascinated by this design feat. Offset, interlocking concrete steps automatically spiral as they are stacked on top of each other. Each step is exactly the same, formed in a wooden mold. [Matter Design]
