Probably not.

What about Mercedes?

Suspension, cylinder head, radiator, injectors. I can't remember everything, just because I've tried to block it out! As soon as they said I would need a new engine which would be 22k I was running for the hills.

ha ha, I try to be everywhere.

CRACK PIPE TO THE 13th DEGREE! I had one, I wouldn't wish this car on my worst enemy. Sure when it works it's fantastic. When it doesn't, you'll need to rob a bank to fix it. I wrote about it for TST. http://www.thesmokingtire.com/2014/how-a-stu…

Thanks, and Formula D needs to come to Chicago soon.

Is there a kit or a manufacturer that makes the hydraulic handbrakes you use, or are they all custom jobs?

Yes, you can buy a new 2013 Viper GTS for $89,990. That's down from $134,990, and there are plenty of GTSs that sell for under $100k.

It feels like they spend more money building a brand rather than building the cars.

True, I'll concede that. Maybe I spoke from a place of nostalgia.

Ferrari makes money on branding everything and anything they can get their hands on. Like for some reason the Jordans a few weeks ago. Or the countless other products they brand.

But even those are losing what makes them a Ferrari. I'm not saying we should go back to the good old days of carbs and a drum brakes. But the techno wizardry that is Ferrari right now just doesn't seem to mesh with its heritage.

We're team Marchionne here because, though Ferrari does have an obligation to protect its brand, its brand has basically been: We're a bunch of lousy, humorless pricks who make great cars but terrible people.

Around Jalopnik Lotus is a sacred name with "simplify, then add lightness" being quoted like it's the Gospel. To the rest of the world Lotus means nothing and the Elise is just a tiny Ferrari.

Why not Joseph Kosinski again? He has shown that he can bring his art beautifully to life in both Tron and Oblivion?

I almost died hanging out of a cab window on one of the three days we were doing a single bachelor party. We should cover, "how not to get decapitated while riding in a cab."

The last gen was really good, this new one, the 2014 isn't. My dad had both, and I've driven the two a lot. The previous generation was a good car. A bit stupid with the 4speed auto, but it had a good chassis. This new one rolls and rolls and rolls. It feels like a bus.

Forget the granola muncher lesbian reputation, this is a reasonably fun to drive, spacious family hauler. More than that, all those Impreza performance parts fit right on these things.
