I'm in the final 100 pages of this monster, and my discussion group on Goodreads has been a blast. So much speculation and "WTF"ing.

Ah, but how does IM get the leverage to flip Hulk around like that? He does have thrusters on his arms, but that doesn't seem like enough to flip the Hulk.
Came here to post this! Such a brilliant show. I still randomly declare Numberwang sometimes.
"The Aeronaut's Windlass" sounds like it came out of a Random Steampunk Title Generator program. And the protagonist is called...Captain Grimm?
What freaks me out is the fact that, 25 years from now, our kids will reminisce about Stampy the way that we reminisce about stuff like Transformers and GI Joe. What kind of world will that be??
When my kids fist started watching Stampy, I was so confused. What the hell is this guy? His voice makes me picture some kind of bizarro-world version of Pinocchio.
I've heard at least one solution that is even less plausible...although it makes for an awesome story ;)
The inn in Don Quixote is a great authentic example of the kind of inn described here... All of the men sleeping in one room and a dinner room for the guests.
Charlie Jane, as Aunty Entity, containing her rage: "Bricken. Bricken runs IO9."
It's been a long time since I've read Deadpool, but wasn't he in love with Banshee's daughter at one point? Siren/Theresa? Although I guess the hair color kind of makes that unlikely.
Random thought: This kid would be great as Crake in that MaddAddam TV series that HBO is planning.
Can't imagine my life without this book in it...past time for another reread, actually.
I just finished God Emperor recently, and this comment makes me really excited about continuing. I love how it sometimes seems like Herbert's overall vision as a whole is, in a way, actually more interesting than any of the individual parts.
I just recently finished with God Emperor, and I really did not enjoy it... but I keep hearing people say what you're saying, so I'm planning on a reread in a year or two. Got to do Heretics and Chapterhouse first, of course.
Things can be scary without loud noises. Do any filmmakers realize this?
Hey Nicole, I read this whole discussion and I really appreciate you starting this conversation.
I want to see a Villan-centric story where ALL of the Tannens — Biffs and Griffs and Mad Dogs —get together in the original 1985 to carry out some dastardly scheme.
Sadly I don't have the time to do a one-sitting read of anything other than novellas. This is a good one for it.
Yeah, I similarly assumed it was a mafia family name, like the Corleones.
Meh, an animated version is going to flop. Live action would have much more potential.
3 steps to a great live-action Jetsons:
