It's difficult to type this because a fist just formed to punch someone over "Instalady". #bitterhag

In the movie this dude would probably be played by that scrote, Zack Braff.

I love how completely he seduces her in under a minute. Like, "Mike, buddy, I could fuck your girlfriend if I wanted to. I could fuck all the girlfriends."

Quick preemptive strike: 3 thinks about mental health and sex abuse which you should consider before commenting.

Evan Peters fingerbanging. Yup.

I just laughed myself to tears. omg.

The opening is good, but it could have used a little more cowbell.

So you talk about in-laws and puppy-kickers daily? That's rough.

Same! I have enjoyed Chelsea Handler's, and Tina Fey's books and am considering Mindy Kalings so this should come after that.

Ha, that's funny! I literally just finished reading a Stephen King book (On Writing) before reading Lena's book.

I completely agree. I really enjoy her work (though its sometimes painful because she really works to make her characters unlikeable but relatable and it's hard to admit you relate to a character so lacking) but here it seems it's the opposite. This was a well written review and I think I will read the book now,

Her gender identity is massively wrapped up in the reaction to her work, especially as it relates to women and their value with looks.

dang so sorry it hurts

I really like Girls too, and think Lena is a good actress but I did not like this book. Her writing is very immature, even for a woman in her 20's. I felt like I was reading something written by a 9th grader. Maybe you'll have better luck, but as a fan of hers, I was disappointed.

This was one of the most intelligently written reviews/critiques of anything I've ever encountered on this site, and I hope we can look forward to more.

Yeah, I have my own criticisms of her show, though overall I think she's talented, and an interesting voice, and has mostly handled criticism — the fair and unfair — with grace. I think that she gets extra crap simply because there aren't enough strong female voices in entertainment*, so everyone freaks out because

Yeah, there are legitimate criticisms of Lena. But the fact that people seem to think that she needs to address all problems facing all women is ludicrous. Yes, she's privileged. No shit. But instead of maybe constantly putting her down for that, we can instead have the conversation of why the stories of less

But she does not represent the kind of girl I am or want to be, so how dare she have a voice? /sarcasm

After a few minutes, I returned to the table. The man ordered a hamburger.

This. Yes, it is possible to maintain your relationship/ your social life /your outside interests. BUT it will take more significant and sustained effort, and even so, some things will fall by the wayside. So you have prioritize the things in your life that are worth that effort, and be willing to let go of the
