Exactly. The proving grounds opened in 1924. I’m guessing the majority of “The Oaks at Beach Lake” was built substantially after that time.

US companies will then not employ anyone outside of the US by switching completely to contract manufacturers or some other arrangement that will shield them from that requirement (will reincorporate elsewhere?)

3rd gear.

Flooring it is a no-no for sure, but I must point out that per Porsche’s owner manual:

The Europeans and Japanese have strong domestic market reasons to not kill off cars. I don’t see that happening at all.

One can like Bob Dylan without pretending he’s a good singer.

We are a vocal minority railing against the insurmountable tsunami of mediocre CVT FWD based bloatovers that will only continue to grow in this day and age of cheap gas. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t stop fighting the good fight.

I go topless on my travel coffee mugs.. all lids eventually leak and i get shit on my suit.

Oh, but they did. In a way.

Sync3 is not MS anymore. Hasnt been for like 2 years. SYNC3 works great.

Gas in my area is at $3.09 (absolute cheapest) and as high as $3.49. It was $2.70 just a few weeks ago. If it keeps climbing I wouldn’t be surprised to see $3.50 as the lowest price by the end of June. Sucks when my 4Runner is averaging 17mpg lol. Guess we’ll be keeping our Jetta for the forseeable future.

Meh - they’ll just go to 12 year auto loans.

Movies always show future cars being sleek and beautiful and fast.

The Ford Ficus

I don’t think that’s completely fair. By the 1990's, I feel like Ford’s small cars were at least significantly better than GM and Chrysler’s products during that time, even if that’s not saying much. Their partnership with Mazda and their Euro division really paid dividends on that front.

The only things you need when picking a car are apparently:

Same old song...

If they do this it will be incredibly short-sighted. Its only because of the booming economy that US consumers are right back at buying big-honkin’ trucks and SUVs. As soon as the recession hits- which many think will be next year- Ford will be stuck in the same position they and the other two US manufactures were

A quarter-century of selling small cars that were designed and built with utter contempt for the people who bought them has finally come to fruition.

No subcompact, compact, or intermediate cars?

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time.
