Before you hit that buy button.

This is a good deal - the Quest 2 is pretty awesome as a standalone headset and makes for a pretty decent PCVR solution.

But if you can afford a Quest3, do that instead. They’re better in quite a few ways.

The problem is that the dumb shit often outweighs the good stuff. That was one of the reasons I stopped watching.

“It’s something that I love that our writers do is that they’re ruthless,” Marshall said. “You love Tracy and Gordo? Great. They’re killed. You love Molly Cobb? Good. She’s dead. I think that’s great, you know? Because that’s what happens in real life.”

While I enjoy For All Mankind, let’s also be honest: it’s a soap opera that isn’t afraid to lean into some of the worst/best parts of being a soap opera. And characters routinely do such dumb shit that in the real world they’d be shitcanned in a heartbeat.

Why am I not watching, two reasons:

Both vehicles scored 5 star ratings NCAP.

I was gonna say, it looks way better than the crash tests of Chinese cars 10 years ago where the entire passenger compartment crumbled on every one.

Now playing

The bar keeps moving because these would have been 4-5 star results in the 80s and 90s.  I mean, you don’t even have passengers being partially/temporarily ejected from the vehicle.

I think we can take this as a sign that moviegoers are experiencing human fatigue. It’s time to explore kaiju across more genres -- Mothra In New York rom-com!

Shouldn’t one actually get the first version of the rocket they’re developing into space and (at least) Low Earth Orbit........and possibly even bring it back down again,....before beginning plans on the sequel?

This image gives me hope that we’ll get something at least akin to Megaton from FO3:

Except it’s not Musk’s billions that are funding (most of) this.

Has anyone heard how they are going to deal with slosh in the tank? It seems that unless the propellant is in the bottom of the tank the engines won’t fire.

I’m looking forward to this. Musk aside, I can’t see how anyone who claims to be a science and technology enthusiast can’t be excited for this.

Musk shared a photo showing four Starship upper stages standing vertically at SpaceX’s Boca Chica facility in south Texas

Thanks for the even-keel coverage, and mentioning Scott Manley. His analyses are always great.

Great job George, you wrote the fair and balanced recap of the test that the rest of media somehow was unable to.

You might want to clarify the FAA role here. They won’t actually do anything to “investigate”, SpaceX will investigate, identify any actions it wants to take, then pass that to the FAA which will either say “Okay” or “We’re disturbed by X, do more”.
