You are not correct. Unpaid interns have worked around the clock on every presidential campaign in modern history. They do it for contacts and the hope they’ll be picked up with pay when the candidate hits the White House.

Actually, it IS common. There is a small paid staff. Then, a large number of volunteers and interns. Sometimes, interns will get paid for a campaign, but not the next one. The fact that they signed on tells me that they were expecting, either compensation, or White House appointments at the end. That is how it works.…
