Arresting people who are engaging in good-faith cooperation with the authorities (as part of the citizenship process no less!) is astonishingly shitty and short-sighted. I wonder if it’s deliberate intimidation aimed at any unauthorized immigrants who might try legal means to rectify their status, or just ICE agents…

For reasons that don’t really make sense, people detained on immigration issues don’t have quite the same right to attorney representation. It’s reprehensible, but chances are it was technically legal.
