Thanks, Suppiluliumas. I appreciate your clarification. I do not doubt you at all — and I think that Darius is also passionately invested in a just and free Middle East. People have disagreements that lead to assumptions that can spiral uncontrollably. Allah knows I have had my share in these pages.

Darius; perhaps you two had a misunderstanding, or needed to dialogue further. I have known him as a commenter for a long time, and do trust him. We all have been privy to crediting icons who later showed ugly sides (hello, Daniel Ortega!) but must evolve as new information is disseminated.

I did not; I know him as someone who has passionately endeavored to educate us as to the war in Syria. I appreciate your message.  

I no longer judge this in a way I once did. I, myself, decided that I was in too many back-to-back relationships and that I would take a break. That break has now lasted nearly two decades. And I hadn’t been single for longer than a few months between 20 and 34. Everything becomes its own pattern.

Israel has been doing exactly this for the last seventy years, and no one has called them on it, yet. 

Right. This is the reason that Republicans would love to disenfranchise elderly voters. And you only need look at the Supreme Court: they skew more progressive as they age, and see the concrete effects of abstract policy.

In all honesty, I don’t know whether to argue with or pity you — for how much you have been brainwashed. I know. I underwent the same conditioning.

You are seriously using mythological creation stories to decide a population’s right to land? May as well consult Zeus and Aphrodite. 

If you’re going to use the bible as a justification, there is no use continuing this dialogue. This would mean that Mormons have more of a claim to the vast majority of western America than the Native Americans because their holy book promises them this.

You are saying that Palestinians are not native to Palestine but Jews from Lvov or St. Petersburg or Kyev are? You may as well say that the Native Americans emigrated over the Bering Strait and so are not native to the Americas. We all came from somewhere.

It’s weird. I’m free to be maskless but now I feel naked without it. 

Many peoples have lived there. Jews were never a majority population. And certainly not the light-skinned Eastern European Jews such as my own family on a few sides. The Jewish religion originated in Iraq, and moved into Egypt but nor have we the right to claim those lands.

Not 100% sure of this but I did hear once that most marriages collapse due to financial strain. We don’t hear about this with celebrity marriages so much since they often are relieved of that concern.
