I’ve been a part of the Jalopnik community for over a decade, and it’s a damn shame what it’s become. I’m not someone who runs around praising Musk, in the end he is a billionaire, but what one isn’t honestly a bad guy, you don’t make that kind of money through honest means. But man, tell me the office is full of

I agree that this is a dumb comparison, beating on a drag race a car that was made to corner isn’t that meaningful. However, this is a distinction that will be lost to many - and for that, I think it was a very good PR move, and I’m actually kind of impressed - it is much better than firing on the car or attacking it

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to me, yes, yes it is. It's uglier than any full-size pickup I’ve ever seen.

If the Cybertruck’s electric motors couldn’t produce enough torque to outrun a 911 Carrera, I’d be very concerned.

When you also factor in the Cybertruck’s 845 horsepower and the 11,000 pounds of towing capacity, it wasn’t a real contest. It’s a level of performance that could be yours for only $99,990 before any potential EV tax credits.

It looks like a rejected model from a late 80s 3D video game.

The problem is nobody needs a car this fast, let alone a truck.  To think of the kind of doofuses that will be driving these things around soon, makes me very scared.

Im not a huge fan of the Cybertruck. But calling it a spectacle is far from the truth. It's the first vehicle to utilize a full 48 volt system. It's the first to use the correct steer by wire system. It's the first of many things.

I found a copy of that that someone had squirreled away.

Now playing

Some YouTuber was smart enough to save a copy of the now-missing Motor Trend drag race between the Model X and a 4C.

I didn’t bother to read all the comments but I do hope you know that Jason Cammissa did the same thing previously with a Model X towing an Alfa 4C racing against another 4C and the Tesla won that too.

Know they ran that dozens of times to get that timing just right.

The finish looked staged to me. Having both Porsche’s inline with each other seems intentional.

Is that drag race an 1/8 or full 1/4?

Since this is a pulling competition, I think we need to look at torque numbers too.

yes it is.

Of all the stupid and insanely dumb shit we have read about Tesla, Cybertruck, Musk, etc this past year...

Predictable shitty, humorless Jalopnik article. You could set your watch by it. The obvious anti-Tesla slant has gotten really boring, guys.

Whom amongst us hasn’t decapitated someone by illegally flying a plane.  Could happen to anyone.
