Well, that final shot with the shorn Professor X ... wow. I mean, Sir Patty Stew was commanding as old Xavier but, visually, they gave McAvoy the perfect comic book lighting to look like the shot came right off the page.
I believe the Netflix series have definitely shown us that we should be okay with this.
Honestly, I’m quite thankful. I know he was in First Class (albeit briefly and albeit with a great line), but his absence, for the most part, wasn’t really noticed. I’d like to see another X-Movie without him and I hope this is it.
