Logical? It was an absurd argument suggesting that piracy is for poor people who spend too much time fighting for the rights of piracy instead of working.

As if there wasn’t enough luxury goods in the world.

Just to take your argument and run with it: Let’s say that you can’t afford five-star golfing. Now, playing golf on a really high-quality course with high-quality gear can be a really nice experience. If there were any way you could experience world-class golfing for free, without harming anybody*, are you saying that

Most disabled people can’t change their financial circumstances, and if you’re dealing with constant pain, severe depression, or psychosis (among other things) video games can be a vital distraction that people wouldn’t survive without.

This is too easy:

Right! It’s only poor people being lazy! It has nothing to do with consumer distrust over certain dev/pub practices! Or a matter of free-speech from artists shut down by censorship practices baring certain games in certain regions! That’s never happened!

“And if your life does not allow you to consume of said luxury than perhaps that’s a fair indicator that your time, effort and money should be funneled elsewhere.”

A Luxury to whom? If you want a game so badly and you have a job you can simply save money to buy it later, or better yet; wait for discounts.
