This was great. You know why? Because, for all of 2 minutes, I wasn’t thinking about the next four years.

Is the bottom part Jalopniks new motto?

I think “cheating” overstates things a bit. An Uber/Lyft driver satisfies many of the criteria the IRS uses to determine an independent contractor. If I can work for multiple companies, get paid by the job, set my own hours, and use my own tools, that’s pretty independent contractor-y. I’ve had two different 1099'd

I hate to agree with Uber but its drivers are the very definition of independent contractor. They decide which fares to take, use their own equipment, almost universally have another job as a means to make money, set their own hours, they have no uniform requirements.........

I know Uber has issues and don’t mean to gloss over them. But I’ve taken Uber plenty of times where the driver has given me a card with his business number on it because he (I’ve only had 1 female Uber driver) operated his own business and uses Uber to fill in the gaps. How are those drivers Uber employees versus

eh you’ll be fine over here in europeland.. really the only places where you’d have to worrie about your safety are places that were already pretty damn unsafe...

“As many as 1.6 million drivers in California got involved in a class action against Uber back in the summer over the eternal issue of the ride-hailing service not treating its drivers like employees, but as contractors instead. It’s a move that lets Uber dodge a lot of modern corporate bullshit, like being

Gotta live a little. I bet it’s a handful. I’d buy it, beat the hell out of it and let it die. This car needs to be enjoyed

Wait.. are we supposed to just IGNORE the Ferrari in the garage?

Just stop.

I set my bullshit-o-meter to this book when I was 16.

Age and neglect - I’m guessing one of them was missing in this case. I’m amazed at how you can keep a decent quality car on the road for two or three decades these days, as long as you just do regular basic maintenance and treat it reasonably well. Nothing extravagant, just staying on top of things. Rode in a late 92

china may have a larger military, but the quality of their equipment is questionable at best. the biggest worry is that we would have a repeat of korea where they would leverage their (in their eyes) laregly disposable population. yay socialism.

“Foreign countries need to buy more American cars.”
I think it was put best as “Well, build better cars then.”

I couldn’t care less what Mr. Maher says. The average person thinks these protesters are dumbasses. All these protests are losing their effectiveness.

With every new protest. With every new march. With every new boycott.

Forget the malware, that’ll confuse any technician under the age of 30.

Harley’s factory?

Donald Trump: Too right-wing for Harley Davidson, the company that once sold a Confederate-flag themed motorcycle. Holy shit.

“They fear a big tax on imports would hurt their sales and profits and put them at a disadvantage to rivals more reliant on U.S.-made products.”
