The 8P (cousin of the Golf 5 and TT mk2) is the second generation that you had and was available here with the same engine/drivetrain as the Golf 4 and 5 R32 and it’s actually cheaper used than a R32 while being a better car.

I would rather have a A3 8P with the same engine for that kind of price (not sure you ever had it in the US though) but this one seems to be in really nice condition and very few cars do have a gray interior that looks that great.
