Pretty sure that has a TR-3650 transmission, NOT a T5. IIRC, the 3650 wasn’t very reliable, and is normally replaced with a TKO or a T56.

This is only true if the paid off car is not German, British, or American...

I have only ever worked on one, and everything was astronomically expensive. After 2 years of pouring money into it, the ECU gave up the ghost, quote on the part alone was close to 2500$ IIRC, he scrapped it.

I was 3 seconds away from mentioning this!

Tapatío is among the best! and surprisingly cheap!

Just a note, and I saw that you explained this, but I’ll add a little clarity. The MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) comes on steady when your vehicle has the POTENTIAL to exceed 150% of the maximum allowable federal emissions. A flashing MIL is a warning of potential catalyst damage caused by a misfire. All OBD2 cars

It always baffled me how big the Taurus is on the outside, and how little it is on the inside. I’m pretty sure a lot of it is the high center console, it seems to make the interior seem VERY small.

Never seen a spare tire, have you?

A customer of mine just bought a road glyde for 38 FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS. I said “Hey man, you know 38k buys you a REALLY nice car that normally has 3 more wheels than your bike, right?” It’s disgusting.

Just finished putting my Harley back together this weekend AGAIN after the head gasket job, and the master cylinder going out WHILE IT WAS ON THE STAND APART FOR THE HEAD GASKETS. Go out on a test drive, my RR turn signal literally falls off. I wanna ghost ride it into a quarry.

While I’m with you in principle, the gas taxes in PA are the highest in the country, and our roads are among the worst. If you go across any border from PA, the price drops 20-30 cents.

It gets worse in later episodes...

I have always liked this design for some reason, looks like a big cat. I have driven a few of the V10 equipped M5s, and the noises are lovely. I would imagine that 84k miles in on the cusp of horrendously expensive services, so I am gonna have to CP it. If this was closer to 50k miles, or if I had enough cash to

After testing both straight and E10, some of my vehicles like E10, and some like straight. The gas station up the street (a VP station) sells ethanol free 93, which is what I use in my hot rod and my bike, but my MS6 does a lot better on E10, both in mileage and performance. Monitoring timing live with a Cobb AP,

The headline is talking about octane. I have an alcohol carburetor sitting 4 inches from my right hand. I’m well aware of its energy density.

It was a way to make significant money at reduced effort in the name of “reducing reliance on foreign oil”. In reality, it has cause way more problems than it has solved.

Bingo.

Also, straight ethanol has a much higher octane rating (anywhere from 100-113 octane.)

While I love AvE, this video got it a bit wrong. I don’t think he understood the politics that went into putting ethanol in our fuel. It is WAY more complicated and dirty than most people care to understand.

I was about to say, this makes every Michigan car a complete deathtrap, right?
