I <3 airships of any kind... that being said, and bearing in mind that i don't know the in's and out's of bullet velocities, what's to stop the usual psycho crackpots from taking potshots at this as it flies over or near urban areas?

Whoa whoa, whoa! What about the Mortal Engines series? Or His Dark Materials? I like Temeraire as much as the next dude, but i would certainly want both these series up there with the likes of Discworld!
