I’m simultaneously glad you’re educating everyone about the DFS band, and irritated that my home wifi deployment with commercial-grade APs that speak DFS won’t be the only ones on the band now.
It’s been pretty nice being the only one in my neighborhood on these frequencies!

A few things at play here:
-A lot of people still have old routers / access points that only do 2.4ghz.

Ah, yes, thank you. It is important to differentiate between two peers on a subject disagreeing that happen to be man and woman, and a man saying a woman with actual knowledge on something is wrong when he doesn’t have the same experience.

I think a lot of guys don’t realize how some managers respond to an “uppity” woman vs a “determined” man who are asking for the same thing.

“Here is an easy solution” that does nothing to deal with the gap when adjusted for degrees.
I know a lot of men are getting pissy in these comments about being told they’re mansplaining things, but your comment is a perfect example of what so many people are sick of hearing:
-You say that an issue that has been going

I’m not assuming there are a lot of women in the higher levels of the system. In fact, I thought I was saying that I noticed there were not?
I don’t think that is because they’re less qualified or seek these higher levels less, I think it is because men have been fine with women “watching children” but don’t like to

I’m at a loss, then. Most educational salary information I’ve seen is completely public and formula-based, and gender isn’t part of that formula.
Usually, it is experience+certifications+degrees+position=salary.

Just a guess, but my observation is that there are a LOT of women in the classroom, and a lot more men in the administration building.

-“You can’t mansplain away the wage gap”
-First two comments “Hold my beer”

Both points agree there still is a gap, so I guess that’s progress. However, I feel both are saying that it is the women’s fault. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Regarding Freddie’s point about parenting: Maybe you’re right. There still is a gap.

I’m not talking about the far-right people that make up that 30-something approval rating Trump is getting.

I’m talking about the other 15-20% that actually helped get him elected and already have some buyer’s remorse. At least, I hope they are.

Still, I think many of those 15-20% feel like there was too much bad about

Beth, I agree with the conclusion of “good laws” or “bad laws”, for the most part, in this case.

I do this for a living. You’re correct, you can look at the hotspot the device is on, plus all of the other hotspots that can see the same device.
It uses the signal strength of the device combined with a map of the building that includes how well different types of objects reflect and absorb wifi signals.
With enough

We’ve been working hard to change “We can’t afford that” to “We spend our money on other things”

But beef can be contaminated if a butcher punctures the digestive tract.

Keg party often involves friends you love but know have questionable judgement who often use that poor judgement when deciding who to bring.

Nope, the point is they’re passed out in the back seat while their sober and disappointed girlfriend drives them home. Did I mention they’re jerks?
I didn’t say THEIR car.

My father told me once:
“Never get a keg for a party at your house. Never.
If you’re having a big enough party for a keg, there is a good chance there will be some people there that are total jerks after they’ve had too much.
Those are likely also the people who will decide they can’t leave until they float the keg.
Get

Because normally, the idea when you retire is “Go somewhere that’s like where you go on vacation, but you stay there until you die”

Thanks for this. I was minutes away from subscribing to Washington Post online.

First, the thread I was replying to is regarding someone else talking about data caps on their Comcast data cap.

Second, data usage HAS NO marginal incremental cost for the ISP.
Peak usage has a cost, but my backups at 3am use surplus capacity.

This was solved decades ago in business services with an idea of a CIR:
