The Macan is too damn pricey once you add a few options, especially when you have competitors like the Merc AMG GLC43, Jaguar F-Pace, 2018 Audi SQ5. They are all cheaper with similar options, fast (for a CUV), and more practical.

We ditched Uverse for Vue and use AppleTVs for our set top box. Vue isn’t cheap by most cord-cutter standards, but it’s less than half the cost of Uverse for the same channels and there are no contract. Downsides is it can be glitchy, shows will hang or it will do some funky things with the “DVR”. Also you can only…
This is what a buddy does... He has a used 2015 Leaf that he bought for $11k with TTL. He has a 20 mile commute give or take and his office has free charging stations. He said there are a few Teslas and one other leaf that use them, but he gets over half his electricity for free. His other car is a new Shelby GT350,…
I drove an “S” that has adaptive suspension. In normal mode it drives a little bigger than the Macan, and has a slightly softer ride quality. On bumps it does give a little bit of a truck-ish feel, but I think that was mostly due to the 22" optional wheels. I would stick with the stock 20" wheels personally. In…
I’m hopeful that level 4 & 5 cars become the norm. Traffic will be reduced significantly and infrastructure spending will become simplified when roads are being used more efficiently. Parking becomes simplified; your car will park itself and there could be a few centralized parking location in a city center vs lots…
The F-Pace is better than the Macan IMO... The F-pace has more room all around, has a better warranty, includes 5 years of maintenance, can tow a decent amount and has 90% of the driving dynamics of a Macan. Oh yeah and with similar equipment is significantly cheaper.
I used to be that way, but I’ve gotten over it (the world is full of assholes that don’t respect other people’s property, and nothing is going to change that).
It’s sad but true... Also a white male in Texas I did rack up quite a few tickets in my early 20's, but I think that was the typical kid in some type of loud/fast car that is an instant target. Now and I’m older and drive less obnoxious cars, I haven’t had issues. Also, I don’t know if it’s a factor, but since I got…
I surprised it still has the retracting door handles, people were thinking that would be something that would get axed over cost.
It’s DSG... From memory, the only “regular” auto transmission used in the audi lineup is the 8 speed ZF unit.
Having driven all over Europe I think the roundabout system works so much better than the typical 4 way stop / light in most cases...
Real news requires real journalism... Problem is you don’t get paid for journalism, you get paid for clicks. If you’re not first you’re last is the current reporting mentality for a majority of large outlets, damn fact checking or substantive investigating.
I heard Chevy won a JD Power award for the most awarded commercial featuring a listing awarded vehicles awarded by JD Power.
This... There is no possible way to develop a level 4 or 5 car without them being in the real world gathering data. It would be cost prohibitive for manufacturers to have employed drivers manning test mules, so selling them is the only real option. The hope is that more manufacturers join forces to share data to help…
These things are being created is because 90% of drivers out there are not paying attention to driving no matter what safety features they have. Adding the tech does create some false sense of safety which can promote distracted driving, but I would say these safety systems are doing more good than harm. The fact that…
The interior seems much more cohesive...
Counter point, outside of the fuel pump/tank recall, my 2015 GTI has been solid. It’s also been tuned for 28k miles.
Some of the mesh systems allow for a ethernet backhaul between the APs, so you wouldn’t be eating into your wireless bandwidth. At that point I would go with Ubiquiti APs and router for less money...
Or better yet skip the consumer grade routers and spring for a more reliable “enterprise” solution. I’m running Ubiquiti AC access points in our townhouse and it blows our old Linksys 1900ac out of the water. I tried everything with the linksys include different firmware and could never get consistent wifi with the…
Why would you spend $40K on a lifted hatchback with an identity crisis and no practicality... Where is that article about discounted Golf Rs???
